Kill Team

Thank you again _Valten_. I be dammed if I could find that. I take back what I said recently about Arc rifles, at 0 they are decent.  Ooh and power swords are 0 lol, bargain.

Is that a 5 on the Data Tether :S

I agree LucidNinja the points do make choices more fun! Is that 3 damage on the radium carbine, wow. I really need to get my hands on the book and look at the other armies for average wounds per models.

I've looked at trying to get an overall list but it really depends on who you are facing. The percentages below are mostly from Index data so its close but not completely accurate.

There is one T2, 46% T3, 50% T4 and one? model of T5(Plague Marine). Saves range from 26% 3+, 23% 4+, 26% 5+, 25% 6+ and a single 7+.

I want to field:

Sicarian Infiltrator x 3(Enemy specific weapons)

Vanguard Alpha(-Toughness with Enemy specific CC weapons)

Vanguard Gunners x2(Loadout depends on enemy, T3 is ark and T4 is plasma)

Ranger Alpha(Leader: He hides with his Galvanic at the back in some rubble)

7 Models, could squeeze in another model by removing all point costing weapons.

Any dice from GW are usually limited supply after the initial selling period, but I'm not sure about these. Are all the Necromunda ones still available?

I was going to buy some but then I saw these...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/DICE-Chessex-Gemini-BLACK-RED-12d6-d6-Block-Set-Marble-Shiny-Dark-D-D-26633-/272845050385

I'll never do chessex again after I got in on a custom order for some Black Templar dice from them. They roll like absolute dog :cuss. The symbol is on the 6, guess what I never saw in game when I used them? Yeah, the six. It was ridiculous. Literally game after game after game, those chessex dice rolled terrible. I've had better luck with regular old bicycle dice.

Played a few now:

4-way free for all. Death Guard won

Vs Nids. Cogboys won by opponent breaking.

Vs Marines. Won by points end of round 4.

I'm loving Kill Team right now. It's a lot of fun.

I am looking forward to trying it out soon!  Would you mind sharing your list to help inspire us?

Ran the same list all three games:

Ranger Alpha as Leader. No upgrades.

Infiltrator Princeps w/ taser. Combat.

Ranger Gunner w/ arquebus. Sniper.

Ranger w/ Omnispex. Comms.

Then another Infiltrator w/ taser, 2 Vanguards, and a Vanguard Gunner w/ Plasma Caliver.

The local store I played at has a TON of its own terrain, so we used that. My deployment zone had one of the highest points of terrain, so I just plopped him down there alongside his Commnispex buddy. It worked very well. The Arquebus was my Sniper specialist, so he was rerolling 1's to hit and ignoring the long distance penalty for his sniper. The Commnispex spotter next to him gave him both his +1 to hit perk (Comms) and the ignore Obscured (Omnispex) perk. So he was hitting nearly everything on 2's with a reroll 1, and wounding just about everything on 2's or 3's. The only reason he didn't do as well as he could have was my opponent made some lucky saves or just rolled Flesh Wounds instead of being taken out. Other than that, he was pretty much wounding everything he shot at, which was awesome.

Going off those games alone, I would say if you plan to run an Arquebus gunner, have a Comms specialist with an Omnispex next to him at all times. Get them up high ASAP, then just go to town. Pop Shroudpsalm Turn 1 and keep them in cover if you need to move them. Will help them reach where they need to go if they need to move to high ground. But do not sacrifice more than 1 turn for them to move into position. You can't afford to lose those shots.

Has anyone run their teams with Data Tethers? I am trying to set up my 20 models to cover all the bases. Can anyone see something missing from this list?

2x Infiltrator with Power Sword and Stubcarbine.

2x Infiltrator with Taser Goad and Flechette Blaster.

1x Infiltrator Princeps with Power Sword and Stubcarbine.

1x Infiltrator Princeps with Taser Goad and Flechette Blaster.

1x Ranger Alpha with Galvanic Rifle.

2x Vanguard Gunner with Plasma Caliver.

2x Vanguard Gunner with Arc Rifle.

1x Ranger with Galvanic Rifle and Omnispex.

1x Ranger with Galvanic Rifle and Data Tether.

1x Vanguard Alpha with Taser Goad and Phosphor Pistol

1x Vanguard Alpha with Arc Maul and Arc Pistol

2x Vanguard with Radium Carbine.

2x Ranger with Galvanic Rifle.

I've got my KT box set and have played a little with lists but I'm still very new to AdMech. A sniper seems quite nice, otherwise options seem fairly straight forward with a Plasma Caliver or two and a slightly tooled up Alpha filling out with some standard Rangers and Vanguard?

Any tips or ideas would be appreciated as I will have a KT game next week but would need to pretty much paint the entire Team this weekend if I want to run Skitarii :tongue.:

I just got a half-game in yesterday, so take my advice as you will!  But, I've seen several different lists floating around and here are some considerations I'm thinking about:

1.  You want some melee units, so I'd suggest at least one Sicarian Infiltrator.  I bought a box and put together two.  You could take the princep and then have a 2-wound melee model which is fast and can take the Zealot or Combat specialists.  I tried out 2 yesterday, but didn't really get to use them much, but ran them with stubcarbine and powerswords.  Against armies with low saves, the taser goad may be a better option with the  5-shot pistol.  Rust-stalkers might be okay, but I didn't try them.

2.  Choosing specialists is hard!  I liked the Comms on my omnispex ranger next to my Sniper arquebus.  However, you could also take Sniper on a plasma caliver gunner to get to reroll 1s.  Or, you could take Heavy specialist for the arquebus so that it can move and shoot.  Many options!

3. Canticles are quite nice!  Especially taking Shroudpsalm in the first turn as you can make -2 or -3 penalties for your opponents shooting (-1 for over half range, -1 for obscurred, and -1 for the canticle).

4.  Initiative - can be tricky, as you move everything at once, but alternate everything else.  So be careful not to throw yourself to close to your opponent if you go first.  As they can move to get charges or closer ranged shots.

Good advice. Just a note; you can't move and shoot with the "heavy" specialism and an arquebus. The rule that you get to ignore thanks to being a heavy specialist isn't the same as the one stopping you from moving and shooting with an arquebus. I guess its to make the big guns even clunkier than regular heavy weapons, which certainly fits the model.

Thanks! My first draft was this:

Hidden Content
++ Kill Team List (Adeptus Mechanicus) [99pts] ++

+ Configuration +

List Configuration: Matched Play: Kill Team

+ Leader +

Skitarii Vanguard Alpha [11pts]: Arc Pistol, Leader, Taser goad

+ Specialists +

Skitarii Ranger [14pts]: Comms, Enhanced Data-tether

Skitarii Ranger Gunner [15pts]: Sniper, Transuranic arquebus

Skitarii Vanguard Gunner [13pts]: Plasma caliver, Scout

+ Non-specialists +

Skitarii Ranger [9pts]

Skitarii Ranger [9pts]

Skitarii Ranger [9pts]

Skitarii Vanguard [10pts]: Omnispex

Skitarii Vanguard [9pts]

I've only got Skitarii models so that's my main limitation. I thought about using the Omnispex on a Specialist but didn't want too many eggs in a basket. I've read the rules a bit more since so I'm due a proper read through so I'll be looking to make some revisions before then :smile.:
