MarcusAurelius
So with a fortis kill team you can take primaris. I looked at the intercessor and reiver lists and it does not have a minimum requirement for upgrading to sergeants. So does that mean I can take a 5 man kill team, with a watch sgt, reiver sgt, intercessor sgt and two standard veterans? Second question: can you take both a shotgun and a power weapon? If yes or no to either of these questions can you explain the logic please. Harrowmaster
1: Yes, there's a limit to the number of each but not one on sergeants in general. Only one can be the leader though. 2: No. If you read the options it says "instead of" when referring to the previous point. MarcusAurelius
That's kind of the way I read it. I appreciate the response. I was reading about 7th edition Bolter and shotgun Shenanigans and kind of figured that they worded it like that on purpose. But given the Games Workshop is Games Workshop who knows. Terimus
Second question: can you take both a shotgun and a power weapon? If yes or no to either of these questions can you explain the logic please. Yes, the rules state that a model can take a power sword or maul separately without being required to replace something, so you simply replace the bolter with a shotgun and take a power weapon and wala! Shotgun power weapon combo! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349240-killteam-deathwatch-rules-questions/#findComment-5136651 Share on other sites

Shotgun power weapon combo! No you cannot, the second paragraph explicitly says - "A DW Veteran may, instead of the above..." Meaning - the entire preceding paragraph does NOT apply.
