Sure they're in the book, that's not the issue.

Also, I forgot about the Macro Gatling Blaster for the Warlord ... also not available from FW for 40k scale. I'm wondering if they'll bring the weapon packs with the missing stuff and then scale the CAD files up for resin production. That would be interesting.

Folks, sorry if it has been mentioned before.

Do we know if there are any plans to bring back the Grand Master Edition? I've seen a few floating about on eBay, but if GW (and therefore retailer sites) are going to have them back in stock, I'll hold off on the eBay ones.

Cheers.

they've still got them on the shelf in WHW

That’s good news... having the terrain for free is cool, and adding two Warlords to the deal doesn’t hurt either. And that’s probably the on.y way I’ll get Knights... can’t get excited about them presently...
Knights seems like a way to top off points really - their guns don’t do a whole lot but they seem an effective way to screen a model or objective if you kit them out with chainswords. The people at my store are using them like that apparently.
Oh, I’m not challenging their tactical use, I’m sure there are quite useful on the table top. However, from a modelling perspective, I’m (at the moment) all about Titans!

Had some fun walking through the rules.  I need to remember that blast weapons hit twice since shortchanged my plasma a couple of times and not to leave Warhounds on a flank by themselves. Using the basic rules where you just push the reactor forward rather than rolling made it easy but without the strategy phase it was impossible to get my melee Reaver into position.

Overall I love the dynamic of the game and the simulation aspect with balancing repairs on shields, venting plasma, and repairing weapons.  It's a really fun game and the paper buildings with the asphalt mat really make me want to get painting so I'm not mixing gray plastic in there.

My Reavers on the left advancing with my Warhounds going to the right.  He shifted to my right to engage them and blasted on guy fairly fast.

My Reavers closed and almost killed one Reaver but we ran out of time.  My brawler took damage from everyone and went nuclear but took no one else with him.

Negative, we did the simple basic rules just to get down how movement and shooting work.  There's lots to learn for the first couple of games.

Speaking of merging shields I had this discussion on Dakka, it says you can take hits on either model or you *can* split the hits between them.  Does you all interpret that as you need to carry hits over to the next model when one model's shields blow out?

The fluff text on the rule says you risk both shields but I've learned that fluff text can say almost anything.  The rules for reducing shields say that excess hits that blow out a shield are lost and the merging shields rule says you *can* split the hits so that says to me that you can use one model to soak a bunch of missile hits and blow out its shields without carrying over to the next model.  My friend yesterday agreed on that interpretation given how the shield rule works.

How would you all look at that?

"If a titan's base is touching the base of another titan in the same squadron, they can merge their void shields. If either of the titans is attacked, the controlling player can use the void shield level of either titan [so you can pick the higher save]. If any saves are failed, they can pick which of the titan's void shield levels is reduced, and can even split it between them."

So it sounds like you pick the higher of the void shield levels then allocate the failed saves.  Because of the wording "can even split" it seems like that means you can allocate them all to one titan and blow out its shields if you choose. It would make sense to me if you have to carry excess failed saves over to the next model but I'm not sure you have to, the door is open to excess saves being lost when one model's shield blows out.

*edit Declaring which model the saves go to before rolling would be consistent with GW's rules but I'm pretty sure this rule allows you to choose after you've rolled, kinda like how servitor repairs are rolled then chosen.

Ok guys, let’s get back on topic... ;)

I didn't see a thread for rules discussions or listbuilding, should I make one? I'd be happy to make a general AT chat thread, I even have a good name.

Of course you can make a tactics thread, that’s what the B&C is all about...

In a brief moment of insanity, I thought about 3D printing a Titan transport - ala the Aratan. Perhaps even using such a model in the related scenario. Then it dawned on me how truely gigantic it would have to be. Even something the size of a large flower pot would conceivably only hold 1 Warlord.
