Adeptus Titanicus - wishlisting and builds etc

From what I remember from all the books I have read is that these transports only carry one Warlord at a time? I did just finish Kingsward and there are multiple Knights in a drop ship so maybe multiple Warhounds? I haven't read Titanicus yet so not completely informed on this but I always imagined a Warlord drop ship as a simple Grav platform with armor.

In a brief moment of insanity, I thought about 3D printing a Titan transport - ala the Aratan. Perhaps even using such a model in the related scenario. Then it dawned on me how truely gigantic it would have to be. Even something the size of a large flower pot would conceivably only hold 1 Warlord.

I grow fig trees and the largest (flower) pots I have could easily take 3-4 warlords.  However at that point we are talking about 50-70 euros per pot, thus making the cardboard box likely a more feasible scenario objective.

That would indeed be insane. Although... it's about the only titan-ship that we have a size for: 2km long, 1km wide, half a kilometer high. Just a big slab, really, but at 10mm-ish that's going to work out as something like 13m by 6m by 3m.

Which actually seems on the big side for a (barely) atmosphere-capable ship to be honest but then I got the impression from how Tempest talks about it that it was supposed to carry most of the legion at once. Something like over a hundred titans? Or at least enough that the fifteen Praesagius engine left outside to guard it were a distinct minority...

Lol, misread "In a brief moment of sanity" :biggrin.:

Kidding aside, any good sources on the various sizes of such transports?

'The Arutan was a vast, slab-like vessel, a purpose-built Mechanicum Titan-conveyor, itself almost two kilometres in length by nearly a kilometre across and near half a kilometre in height. The lifter was fitted with plasma-thruster engines so powerful no other craft could operate in its vicinity with any margin of safety as it blasted off.'

Thanks, I was actually thinking about other types of titan transports. The Titan-conveyor is really massive and seems more like it is used to transport a very significant titan force rather than to deploy, for instance, a single maniple to the surface.

Unless later weapons are going to be resin? On the live stream they mentioned the weapon "packs" won't be ready for a while? This warlord could have been the alternate release build or something - you can see a load of Warlords in the rulebook with the laser blaster shoulders and I think there's a picture of one with the alternate head.

so you can only get new weapons and heads if you buy a whole warlord too?

thats not good.

I still need atleast 2-3 warlords so no biggie, but not a smart move.

also, lancers look great! are they plastic too?

are these going to be sold at FW's webshop only?

edit: shoulder armour plates are different too, I believe this is a new kit without bellicosas and missile launchers

For now at least. And I agree

I'd think so.

Would surprise me, because it's apparently a plastic kit

Looks like an additional piece on each front side instead of the tilting shields.

They are lucky I have built one of my Titans, otherwise I would be politely returning my box to the shop. To even think I have to buy two new warlords everytime I want to change weapons is rediculous and after them saying that they would be seperate weapon sprues. If you buy into something and then find out it is not what you thought it was is becomming a Forgeworld Staple.

I do really hope they "Forgot" to mention the weapon sprues.

If you cannot change the load outs and strategies you can use with your legios, people are going to get bored pretty fast. I have already seen people getting bored of the original loadouts. I want to spend Unearthly amounts of time on my Warlord not have to quickly dish them out because I have to buy one everytime they release a new weapon.

what will happen when they have finally released all warlord and reaver weapons? there are what 6-8 weapons missing?

people will quit because all of those weapons are boring?

I dont understand that kind of mentality. I guess im just too old to understand.

but will say this just one more time, I agree that releasing new weapons like this is a bad decision by GW.

(sorry, im just angry atm. went to dakka to get some info and after reading comments there wanted to break things and punch people)

I've just come from the Facebook post and there was a LOT of salt. One thing I'm curious about is how much the weapon packs will sell for, if they ever materialise. The Warlord is £65 for three sprues (I believe), so £22 per sprue. I can't see GW selling a weapons sprue for less than £25. At that price bracket, it's not that much of a stretch to the full Titan. Annoying certainly, but I'll be interested to see how many of the advocates for weapons packs actually buy them.

What do you folks think?

Dallo

Don't forget that the warlord also has a base and a transfer sheet (and an instruction booklet). I personally would see a single weapon sprue at around £16-18, I don't see it exceeding £20.

The base sells individually for £3, FW transfer sheets are £16 if not mistaken (although I don't know if the size is the same).

Edit: reviewed my estimate to £20 - 25 after checking the size of the warlord's transfer sheet.

That is based on the current cost of the original warlord at £65. The box content is 3 sprues + 1 base + 1 small transfer sheet. A similar sized base is sold for £3, FW transfer sheets are at £16 for an A4, hence assuming £5 for the warlord one. Assuming each sprue is valued the same, that would give £19 per sprue as a minimum. Expecting a premium to be added to it, especially in view of the potential demand implied by the community's response to yesterday's announcement.

I personally would be quite happy to see £20 (or lower … dreams are allowed).

well, lets say that I have 3 warlords with bellicosa/apoc missile combination and there is three different upgrade sprues available @22£/pack

I would buy three upgrade sprues instead of 4th warlord that comes with a single upgrade sprue

and im assuming there is no bellicosas/missiles in this new warlord box

The problem is I do not want unbuilt titan sprues in the corner just to weaponise my current titans. I don't want six titans with different loadouts that I have to swap out. I want 2 titans with all the options that I will call Captain Biggles and George.

Maybe they will release the weapons later but the problem  is the :cusspoor communication again. If you are going to screw us over FW then just say.

Atleast with Knights you can sell the body and basic weapons and keep the upgraded sprue, you cannot sell 2/3 of a titan.
