Robbienw
Two prequel novellas as well, Spear of Ultramar and Dreadwing :D Dreadwing has got to be about the dark angels destroying traitor chemos and barabarus plus other traitor strongholds I reckon. bluntblade
Siege of Terra: The Solar War. John French. First novel of the series. French will be discussing it at the weekender. Yes. Time for Efried, Cazzimus and the Solar Auxilia to shine. Dreadwing will not happen, alas. What was meant to be Dreadwing got folded into AoC. Which is a real shame, one of the great Could Have Beens of the series. DarkChaplain
Dreadwing is happening, at least in terms of title. There's a panel at the Weekender with the two Davids: Presaging the Siege of Terra Authors David Annandale and David Guymer offer special insight into their new Siege of Terra prequel novellas, Spear of Ultramar and Dreadwing Also looks like Hubris of Monarchia won't be the only audio drama tie-in to Calth Shadows of Calth Nick Kyme and Andy Smillie talk Calth, the Horus Heresy and Ultramarines in relation to their new audio dramas featuring the indomitable Thirteenth Legion A lot of focus on novellas this time, it seems. Cool. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349670-hh-series-ending-soon-siege-will-be-another-series/page/10/#findComment-5158650 Share on other sites

Rob P
I wonder if the two novellas will be there to explain why both legions are not at terra for the siege Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349670-hh-series-ending-soon-siege-will-be-another-series/page/10/#findComment-5159120 Share on other sites

karden00
What on earth is Spear of Ultramar?! Fanboy that I am, I’m not sure I love the XIIIth having too much of a role at the siege. At most I kinda thought the Macragges Honour shoring up would’ve been neat but... hmmm... Roomsky
Stoked for the Solar War, even if I think space battles are far from French's forte (I'll admit I was hoping for ADB or Abnett). That said, I think he has a great thematic understanding of the setting, and is an excellent choice for setting the stage for the larger narrative. He also writes my favorite Dorn, Perturabo, Fulgrim, and my second favorite Horus. Hopefully he can pull another Tallarn: Executioner and make a surprisingly real tale of 40k war. JustinDHill
I would love to see Nick Horth get a go at one, his city of secrets is superb. Justin D Hill is another I would love to see in the mix....Horth and Hill have both proven they can do human soldiers exceptionally well. A new flavour for a new series Wouldn’t that be cool! ;-) Furiously scratches head for pitch ideas....
