I dont have Chapter Approved or the regular Marine dex, but have they also lost the ability to put Twin Autocannons on their dreads?

I guess its cuz the weapon is not in the kit but it kinda sucks any way. Was a fun load-out before 8th havnt really tried it post-Index.

Yes they lost it in the Dex.

Still fully usable via Index or as a Mortis Dreadnought from IA Index. The Mortis Dreadnought was 5 more points but unlocks a Relic Leviathan for when you want to run an all Dread list, very useful.

I see Ragnar is the only character able to take Fenrisan Wolves, no more option for your own Wolf Lords and they left out options for Helfrost weapons on Long Fangs :tongue.:

Well the Long Fangs with hellfrost cannons were something of a wishlist from Space Wolves players. In reality though, it doesn't seem like GW is giving any specific chapter a special unit along with its special sprues anymore, apart from Primaris. Not impossible, but unlikely as almost every Chapter has its special goodies already:

DA - Deathwing, Ravenwing, dresswearing sprues, special flyers

BA - Death Company, Sanguinary Guard, Furioso, Death Company Dread

SW - Wulfen, TWC, Stormfang and wolves, new Dread Sculpts which can double as Bjorn, Murderfang, normal Dread, Ven Dread and now Wulfen Dread.

I would say Space Wolves are quite spoilt for choice compared to the vanilla chapters, who comparatively have few unique units, the one that comes to mind are Honor Guard, Thunderfire cannon and the flying toasters, ahem, I mean Stormtalon.

Nevertheless, it is on my wishlist. Definitely won't be FAQ material though. FAQ may change rules and even weapon options, but GW seems to try to avoid giving weapon options that aren't actually a plastic sprue these days, hence no more autocannon dreads for Space Wolves.

And yet Space Marine, DA and BA still have autocannon dreads. Sigh, whatever. I prefer the Predators Autocannon anyway.

If a unit is affected by wulfenstone and saga of the wolfkin, does it get to fight again with its extra 2 attacks when i use the honour of the chapter stratagem? Or because it says that the effect happens at the end of fight phase you loose the bonus attacks?

As I understand it, it still is the fight phase, so there is no reason it shouldn't give you the benefits. The same reason that if a unit uses Veterans of the Long War and the Endless Cacophony or Fury of Khorne thwy atill get the benefit of the stratagem.

As M.Redbeard says, Autocannons are only an option for SM/DA/BA through the Index, which is the same situation for SW. And all of those can take I:FW Mortis Dreadnoughts without going through the regular Index (they're 5pts more and are Heavy Support instead of Elite, but that has benefits too!)

I want to know if the order of combat is affected if you have a unit already in base to base with enemy, then character with armour of russ charges that enemy unit. You start fight phase with a completely different unit and then your opponent uses the interup strat for the unit above. How does that order work? Do they still fight last or at then normal sequence. Or does the strat override this.

The Counter Attack stratagem would have no effect, as the unit cannot be chosen to fight until it's the last unit, unless there are other units affected by similar 'slowing' abilities or an ability that lets it fight first, such as Saga of the Warrior Born.

Not certain about the last one: it says it fights as if it doesn't have that ability, but is that then made to fight last, or are they cancelling each other?

The strat has no effect and the unit fights last still.

Paroxysm has the same wording as the Armour of Russ and there’s an FAQ that stats the strat doesn’t work.

That's good to know. Came up last night in a game and after some discussion we did play it correct but at the time no-one was sure.

Not too related to FAQ but I didn’t want to start a new thread just to ask: is it realistic to expect a US reprint of the SW codex with the proper warlord traits in it, or should I just go ahead and buy as is and print out the sheet?

It's correct in the digital version if that suits you. Otherwise they won't reprint until they run out of stock.

The only faq candidates I have spotted this far:

- WG Cataphractii and Tartaros Terminators squad leaders cannot swap their power swords for a power axe, neither take frost weapons of any kind

- WG Cataphractii Terminators: No access to frost weapons. Weird selection of heavy weapons (Flamer and autocannon) when the kit comes with a plasma blaster and an autocannon.

- Tartaros Terminators: No access to frost weapons. Weird selection of heavy weapons (Flamer) when the kit comes with a flamer and an autocannon.

- WG Pack leaders in Terminator armour (both for troops and long fangs): no access to Cataphractii or Tartaros options.

* tartaros has access to the flamer and reaper autocannon.

did you mean cataprhactii?
