Jolemai
Welcome to the Blood Angels Unit of the Week Series! Following the release of the 8th edition Codex, there is no better time to discuss all the unique units we have access to. Each week a different unit will appear, with the idea being that we discuss how best to use that model on the battlefield. Note, this isn't to lament any nerfs, etc, from previous editions; the rules are as they are so try to unlock its potential for those who wish to use them all the same. Similarly, this thread is only for using the option being discussed; it matters not if you feel something is a better choice as such comments aren't constructive to the topic and shall be removed. Without further ado, here's this week's entry: Primaris Librarians What are you thoughts here folks? How best would you use a Primaris Librarian? To compliment a list, or to build a list around? Will the beta rules affect your list(s)? Will you be running multiples? Footslog or transport? Suitable for Warlord duties? What spells and what are you running this alongside? Are you buffing this unit? If so, how? Stratagems? Over to you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350423-unit-of-the-week-primaris-librarians/ Share on other sites

Charlo
A sort of cheap alternative to Mephiston or middleground between the Lord of Death and a normal Librarian, having an extra wound and attack over the standard Astartes. Probably some decent use rolling with Intercessors or Aggressors in a Repulsor, with powers like Unleash Rage or Shield of Sanguinius offering them a nice amount of extra damage/ survivability with a good chunk of Force Sword attacks to back them up. If you're running to a Primaris theme you can do a lot worse :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350423-unit-of-the-week-primaris-librarians/#findComment-5169835 Share on other sites
Blindhamster
He is decent. Shield is really helpful for repulsors. And he doesn't suck in a fight Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350423-unit-of-the-week-primaris-librarians/#findComment-5169841 Share on other sites
Panzer
For a pure Primaris army he's very recommended so you can give your Repulsor etc a 5++. As others have said he's decend in melee as well due being a Primaris with a Force weapon tho the lack of invul (aside from casting Shield on himself) makes him rather vulnerable in melee. Otherwise I'd probably go for a JP Librarian instead (as long as we still can). Lynnean
A bit sturdier librarian. Everything has been said before, no reason to not take mephiston over the primaris librarian though. Otherwise, depending on what you want to achieve, i'd use this or a jump libby. Decent choice in all perspectives. FormelyKnownAsSmashyPants
I probably never will use one, or Primaris chappie either, as I find both sculpts incredibly ugly, which is shame as rules wise they are not bad, not great, but fairly solid.
