Rules: Legiones Astartes, UltramarinesRite of War: Logos Lectora The List is initially created basically to mimic similar ways that the Roman military would fight. I have two breacher bolter teams in the wings, mostly to hold objectives and be more of a rearguard. One breacher team is armed with powerswords with a LR Phobos to basically be fired into the enemy lines along with the Suzerain in their own Phobos to be a hammer blow. Artillery pieces in the form of Rapiers hold back and provide ranged fire. Outriders are there to act as a fast moving response team to cut down enemy units trying to outflank or to hit from the side. Cadmus Tyro
Looks like an interesting list, I’m not fully up to speed with the tactics of the 13th, but I’ll add a few initial thoughts. I’m finding time and time again melta bombs are a great addition to an infantry unit, they just make the unit a threat to everything (even five meltabombs are enough to rip through a leaviathan/landraider). If you can find the points, I would put some on your breacher units. Secondly, those foot slogging breachers will achieve very little, their ranged damage output is less than a similar sized tactical squad, they have slightly more survivability (6+ invulnerable at range), they are a little slower but they cost a lot more. If you can afford to drop some things from the list to buy them transports, I would. The MoS will do well with the rapiers, +1 BS, but also giving them access to interceptor (augery scanner). It makes a weak support character hard to remove thanks to majority toughness. That being said, could those points be used elsewhere? Anyway, hope that helps?? Cadmus MOS has to be used due to Logos ROW, either that or a Damocles. I was mostly going to put him with my Volkite HS squad most of the time. Carnivore
Given their shields, Breacher Sergeants can be surprisingly tanky in challenges and swinging at approaching high armor/high wound enemies, but only if you arm them for it. Cadmus's suggesting is a good one regarding melta bombs, but I'd try to still find the points to give at least the Sergeant of the breacher squad in the Land Raider a powerfist or a thunder hammer as that squad has the speed of transport to intercept something nasty that's heading toward your blocks of footsloggers.
