Rogue
I've been participating in the Hobby Challenge again, and here's everything that I painted across 2022. It's been a slow year, completions-wise, but I've enjoyed the variety (especially the characters). madlibrarian, Magos Takatus, Dr_Ruminahui and 6 others 8 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350859-red-brotherhood/page/3/#findComment-5897108 Share on other sites
Rogue
Since last time, I've been working on the more mechanised side of my forces, and have added another Ridgerunner, a second Goliath, and a pack of Jackals. Here's a group shot of the Jackals, complete with wolfquads and their Alphus. With a close-up of the quads, because I just finished them and I have a nice photo :) Maschinenpriester, Arianod, Urauloth and 9 others 9 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350859-red-brotherhood/page/3/#findComment-5952643 Share on other sites
Dr_Ruminahui
I always love seeing more of your cultists - they are all so great. You've done such a great job of getting them to look so grimey without rendering them monotone and washed out. Rogue
Thanks - there's a lot of agrax earthshade involved :) Dr_Ruminahui 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350859-red-brotherhood/page/3/#findComment-5954830 Share on other sites
Rogue
June, huh? It's been a while, then. Turns out it's been so long that I've kinda finished the army. I mean, not for ever - I still have things I want to add, but I've got at least one of every unit in the book, and enough to run whatever I want at the moment, so I'm going to paint something different for a bit. So, finished for the time being. This army is almost entirely a product of the Hobby Challenge over the past five years, which is worth checking out if you're not already involved. Here's how it all looks: Dr_Ruminahui, brother_b, OpossumStrong and 8 others 3 8 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350859-red-brotherhood/page/3/#findComment-6031493 Share on other sites
sitnam
Love the work, it’s an impressive collection. It seems kind of sad to see a “complete” army Firedrake Cordova and Rogue 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350859-red-brotherhood/page/3/#findComment-6032485 Share on other sites
Rogue
Thanks. I don't think I'd call it complete - I still have a few bits in the box to work through (the newer Patriarch, the other Magus, bits of the combat patrol and so on. And the Brood Brothers are going to expand at some point in the nearish future, as I want to build them into a stand-alone force that I can play as Guard if I want to. But I know what you mean - my last few models took me ages, as I just wasn't in a rush to finish them and move on. Rogue
Hmm. In my defence, I have managed to paint the complete HeroQuest set, a BloodBowl team, a Ridgerunner and a Goliath Rockgrinder since I last posted.... And most recently, these two 'assistants' to my Biophagus - they're extra Biophagi in game-terms, but there's only space for one mad scientist in the Brotherhood (and I liked the look of the killteam arms). Rogue
And whilst I'm on a roll - here are three aberrants, taking me to 15 in total (not entirely sure why I stalled on a dozen, but there we are). Rogue
And a few more bits and pieces: These two give me a third complete unit of Jackals. These chaps took me up to 60 acolytes/metamorphs, with a leader and icon for every brood of ten. And my second Iconward gets me to the end of the year, 40k-wise. (I've got some Frozen Horror HeroQuest models to paint up next.) Firedrake Cordova
I'm biased as I really like Genestealer Cults, but they do look great - the metamorphs in particular. sitnam
Love the metamorphs, they are my favorite GSC unit and these look great Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350859-red-brotherhood/page/3/#findComment-6145928 Share on other sites
Dr_Ruminahui
Your GSC, as always, are fantastic - always a joy to see your stuff. Particularly like how you use the banners and headlights as a bit of contrast. That said, I echo the call for a group shot - at least of all the stuff you've done this year, if an army shot isn't workable at this time.
