Lemondish
So there was an update today for the DW FAQ...nothing mind blowing, just a fix most of us already expected to all movement abilities to bring them in line with the big FAQ change to FLY. Specifically... Page 72 – Veterans, Vanguard Strike Change the first sentence of this ability to read: ‘In the Movement phase, Vanguard Veterans can move across models and terrain as if they were not there.’ Pages 72, 77 and 91 – Intercessors, Reivers and Armoury of the Deathwatch, Grapnel Launchers Change the first sentence to read: ‘When models with grapnel launchers move in the Movement phase, do not count any vertical distance they move against the total they can move (i.e. moving vertically is free for these models in the Movement phase).’ Page 73 – Intercessors, Inceptor Strike Change the first sentence of this ability to read: ‘In the Movement phase, Inceptors can move across models and terrain as if they were not there.’ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351291-19-november-faq/ Share on other sites
vigitant
Was wondering when/if they were gonna close that loophole. no more 3" charges over models from a 9" deep strike on a tall building. You will be missed. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351291-19-november-faq/#findComment-5194591 Share on other sites
BrotherAetherick
Oh well. At least I don't have to explain it every time. Now if they could only FAQ bikers in veteran units being infantry... Honestly have no clue where they'd make that clarification without adding a whole other bullet point to that list. Though I prefer to think that the other members of the kill team are helping lug the bike to the higher floors of a ruin. Teamwork makes the dream work. Realistically, not sure why I'd ever want my bikes sitting in a ruin, though. BrotherAetherick
Bikes climbing ruins is hilarious, but them being infantry makes a big difference for getting cover (only need to be within, instead of also 50% obscured) and charging through ruin walls to avoid overwatch. Also I've heard people argue you can't even put veterans with bikes in the teleportarium which is just madness. Would be much better if GW actually clarified it. I just live for weird exploitable rules interactions. Hell, back in 5th i made a necron army that made the entire battlefield difficult terrain for the enemy, and then made it dangerous terrain for the first turn, and keeping it dangerous terrain for 1-2 units the whole game. Or my now-defunct 2++ bullgryn deathstar list that only won if you fought it.
