SydonianDragoon404
Also, you can now have a sub 300 point Storm Raven again if you take the twin plasma cannons. I think its worth it considering just how expensive twin assault cannons are making an expensive platform even more so, and twin plasma cannons can be used as a decent anti vehicle weapon in a pinch. Hantheman
Really it's good for the army. One option is no longer clearly superior to another. *laughs in Dark Angel* running both is cheaper and makes opponents have to split fire
Deafbok
5 company veterans with Combi-plasmas and storm shields weigh in at 135 points. Just sayin'. What's a good source of Combi-plasma bitz?
BLACK BLΠFLY
Sternguard have them.
Tamiel
You can make combi-plasmas by cutting out the grip portion of a bolter and replacing it with the top part of a plasma pistol. Just turn the plasma pistol's top part (after cutting it out) upside down and glue it where the bolter's grip was. It's a bit tricky but there are some guides you can follow and the end result is pretty cool. You should do plenty of premeasuring before you start cutting anything, just to be safe.Or, alternatively, you can replace the top portion of a bolter with the top portion of a plasma pistol as shown here http://gravengames.co.uk/combi-plasma-conversion-for-40k-space-marines/ . I personally prefer the plasma to be underslung, but the steps shown in this guide are basically the same idea as what I do. Doing it this way might be easier, though. HighMarshalAmp
Is talking about bitz stores frowned upon here? 'cause I would just buy the parts I need instead of buying boxes that contain one or two of them...
Race Bannon
You mean like Kromlech?
HighMarshalAmp
You mean like Kromlech?I mean the dozens of eBay stores and webstores who sell stuff like one pair of legs or a Combi weapon with all the special bitz for 2 bucks. They make a hefty profit, but if I need 5 plasma guns, paying 10$ for them seems more reasonable than buying 5 Sternguard boxes. SydonianDragoon404
I got my ass kicked by a combination of Grey Knights, dog poo dice rolls, and BO today. Because of how the new mission deployment rules worked he got first turn because of him "losing" the roll off. He teleported a land raider crusader in front of my lines with Gate of Infinity, gave it ignoring cover, and -1 AP on all its bolt weapons, and just murdered any infantry I had in my deployment zone. I didn't know about that little trick they could do with a teleporting land raider, but its not something I'm going to fall for again. I hate to talk :cuss about the guy but good god he had some ripeness to him. Every time his arms came up... His army had a lot more models in it than I was expecting, the points drops did help GK. They might still be a worse army but they're less bad now and they're good against marines. Especially when they can just pass every single psychic power, deal mortal wounds to our small, elite units. It just hurts. His dice rolls were pretty hot and mine were definitely not, that didn't help. Shunt is :cussing annoying as hell when playing objective games. Oh you had to abandon that objective to get proper shot on me? I'll take that. Oh you shot my unit off the objective on my side? I'll shunt over so I can still score it. Holy :cuss it was annoying. You're in a very emotional state right now. So you probably don't wanna hear that I'm thrilled to read GK have kicked you backside because I'm building a GK force on the side as well and am quite looking forward to shenanigans like Deep Striking Dreadnoughts or units teleporting themselves Lemme tell you one thing though: GK die to AP fire just like we do and they reeally wanna be in CC, so Plasma is your friend against all things GK, big and small And one more thing: Sisters of Silence. Man, they're annoying for Psykers. In an 18" bubble, they force a -1 modifier on any Psychic tests and they're only 50pts per 5 woman squad. They've really messed with my Psykers the last time I was facing them. My Libby died turn 2 after getting nothing off at all. Also, maybe Company Veterans are your friend here. Sprinkling a few of those around on the table makes 9" away from your models a terribly lonely place... With the new 2pts Storm Shields, they might gain some survivability at that. SydonianDragoon404
You're 100% correct, looking back now that I've had time to dissect the game, my deployment, and my turn 1, I actually made some incredibly bone-headed mistakes which, in combination with my bad dice rolling, is what caused me to lose. I saw I was playing against GK with my new toys and completely lost of sight of conventional strategy. That's why that land raider was able to teleport into my front lines and destroy me. Not my opponent's body odor.
9x19 Parabellum
Body Odor is just another tactic; he was using Bio/Chem Warfare against you and it worked. You need to remember to go to battle with your M40 Field Gas Mask next time.

Marshal Vespasian
You can get combi weapons from kormlech as well as spellcrow in blisters of 5.
