BLACK BLŒ FLY
Taking away responsibilities and giving them to Specialist Games. forgeworld isn’t writing IA anymore.
Marshal Rohr
Correct. They are writing Blood Bowl, Necromunda, Titanicus, Aeronautica, and the Horus Heresy.
Beren
It sounds like he had a hand in the parts of Malevolence that I enjoyed reading the most (pre-Primarch blood angels and the daemonic lore) as well as stuff on the eventually upcoming Dark Mech. Astartes Consul
Great interview, with some really insightful stuff (though not as many spoilers as I would have hoped for). Sounds like the Dark Mechanicum book will be quite a labour of love for him as well. As for who is writing what, hasn’t it been confirmed that the ‘new’ SG studio (headed by Andy Chambers) is doing everything AoD, Titanicus, Necromundas etc. already? Jareddm
New voxcast interview with Darius Hinks: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LGjkd1QbygE I was particularly interested by his preference to work collaboratively with other authors to showcase the same scenes from different perspectives. This is definitely something I feel 40k can always use more of.

alfred_the_great
Only listened to the first 35 minutes (thanks covid!). Interesting how he comes across as almost 90 deg out from many of the complaints on here about "broken" lists etc. For me - who is only here for the fluff - it only confirms GW really don't go all out to satisfy the hard core gamers. Noserenda
I think the studio itself is always going to be a very fluffy environment, thats why they contacted some more "hardcore" gamers to do playtesting with them :) Felix Antipodes 1 Back to top
No Foes Remain
New one out with Darran and Jes! In this episode they talk Admech and the design process. Edited April 14, 2020 by No Foes Remain Magos Takatus 1 Back to top
Gederas
Listened to that one last night. Was definitely interesting. I found it interesting and amusing that the same team that worked on AdMech wave 1 was the one that worked on Wave 2 because Jes said so?
No Foes Remain
Probably because it's Jes. When he speaks, others listen. BLACK BLΠFLY 1 Back to top

No Foes Remain
I agree, Doghouse. I hope they do more of these, having two mates chat with Wade about what they're working on is great! Sandlemad
Jes is such a good speaker. Very chill and doesn't talk down to listeners about the design process. Every time I hear him speak about this kind of stuff it reminds me of the artistic effort that goes into a lot of GW design. Very clear that the AdMech was something of his baby, as good as it was that they both he and Darren were shouting out to the wider team. The banter about John Blanche being (unsurprisingly) keen on the skitarii cavalry was hilarious as well: "John, you're only going to cut them up and stick other heads on them and stuff, you're not having them if you can't treat them with respect". No Foes Remain
I liked Jes' inspirations on the new Admech weapons and Darren's comment on how all Jes' weapons work, shows how much thought went into all their work. I also enjoyed their description of Blanche's Fabricator design sketch and how it would cover an entire game board by itself if they tried to produce a model! Boytoy
i've never laughed so much while listening to a voxcast. "hello, Leonardo? its the bats." classic!
Lord_Caerolion
Didn't fully click that the Mechanicus Cavalry were supposed to be riding dogs, not horses, but the fact that they do so because of the Mechanicus wanting to emulate the great "Mongrol Empire" of ancient Terra was hilarious.
