Token
Since Iron Hands can survive damage other marines would die of, do they have more veterans then other Chapters? Would they also be able to survive dangerous wounds better from them knowing how to fix broken bodies with bionics? Please excuse grammar, Spelling mistakes and such. Morovir
I think this quote from Eye of Medusa sums it up nicely: "'You Iron Hands are particular about the wars you involve yourselves in, and I have never seen as many service studs in one place as I have during my short stay on your world.’ A nod towards the Epistolary, Lydriik, watching patiently, his pair of cog-studs white with a cold film of moisture. ‘Thennos has proven costly, but it would surprise me if more than a score of your brothers are permanently out of action.’" So yes, the Iron Hands do have more veteran battle-brothers, as they can survive far more than other chapters would, though they would not be referred to as such. jokaero weaponsmith
I always thought that the Iron Hands expected more of everyone, themselves included. As such they push themselves harder, bionics or not it is just as costly when the expectations are higher. But fluff says otherwise. Morovir
I think the point is that they do take high levels of casualties, it is just that often they can be repaired with bionics even when other chapters would not. Dumah
It also speaks to their reluctance to engage in any conflict unless they believe they are certain to win. Forlorn hopes and heroic last stands are illogical.
