N1SB
The Space Marine Heroes Series are truly great. Series 2 is focused on Terminators. And you probably know this, but despite their box art depicting them from specific Chapters (Series 1 was Ultramarine Tactical Marines, Series 2 was Blood Angel Terminators), they can be used for any Chapter (Black Templars in this case): To give you a sense of scale, these other models were from other players I met at the Warhammer Store for a game: Just sharing in case you were interested. It was a quick paintjob, did it in a night in time for a special event, and that was due to the miniature being so excellent that it made it easy to do. Minor notes - I drybrushed the Terminator Armour with Dark Reaper, a teal colour that the eye barely perceives as a colour, just to give some gradient to the black. You can tell the difference from the Black Raging Sanguinius on the right. Then by adding green, I really disguised the tealness of it. I didn't use grey on the armour, only on the base, so it feels like a different texture than his Terminator suit. The metal parts on the Thunder Hammer and Stormshield was Leadbelcher washed with a non-Citadel ink, Tamiya's Smoke X-19. Syward
Done in a single night you say? It'd take me at least a week do do the same. I'd really like to see what you could do on a non-rushed model. Nice work. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352899-space-marine-heroes-series-2-terminator-sergeant/#findComment-5228653 Share on other sites

Thank you, Brother, iirc you were working on your own Deathwatch and both you and I were working on the challenges of black power armour. The funny long-story-short was I rushed this for a special event and I was still doing some drybrushing an hour before it began. Good times. N1SB
Very fine work I was going to pass on Space Marine Heroes Series 2, but after seeing your hammer wielding Templar...…. I'm reconsidering Brother, me too. I bought this on a lark at the 500th Store opening, when it was 1st made available here (not sure if it was earlier in Japan), so that was for fun. But upon discovering the money cost/Terminator of this Series 2 was cheaper than actual Terminators, we've been waiting for An Excuse. Like we had hoped, before its release, Chapter Approved 2018 would give us a compelling reason, and while there was a points drop, wasn't quite enough just IMHO. And now that we've seen the new Index Astartes...what if there was one on, say, a Deathwing article? Or just some general 1st Company Specialist Detachment where, just as an example, Terminators became Objective Secured? Something like that, combined with the points drop, would be enough. That's like the purchase decision making process right now for us. I hope, when Series 2 is made widely available (like Series 1 was), they time a White Dwarf article for something like this, so that we may all share in this. Because they're really, really good minis.
