Paladin777
Probably wings, though certain army builds could definitely make good use of a deep striking terminator Libby! Karhedron
Just as an aside; if anyone still plays 1st Gen Angels (none of this Primaris nonsense ) does anyone think of running a Terminator Libby or is speed with JP/Wings preferable? Most Libby powers are fairly short-ranged so chances are you want your libby close to the action which is why Jump Pack is popular. Having said that, Termie armour does provide good protection for Librarians who are a bit squishy otherwise and Teleport Strike gives you a way to get close to the enemy. Ultimately it depends what you want your Librarian to be doind as to whether the Jump Pack and/or Wings are essential or not. Many of the powers discussed in this thread like Null Zone and Might of Heroes require getting up close and personal with the enemy. I was thinking of using one as back-up to a CC-orientated Termi squad deployed from a suitable transport. I like him. Very useful for small points games, since he's kind of a jack of all trades HQ who's tough (having built in 2+ 5++) and can do a couple different jobs for the price of one. He's pretty versatile depending what you equip him with, capable of both being quite killy and giving some decent buffs. My favourite setup so far is two squads of hammernators with a Teminator Libby and Terminator Captain respectively. Give the captain the Icon of the Angel and Gift of Foresight, then give the libby Imperium's Sword/Might of Heroes and Veil of Time. That way all of them get re-rolls to charge, making deep strike pretty reliable, and both HQs are formidable fighters, backed up by hammer boys, giving you a pair of surgical strike mini-nukes. Jolemai
On 1/14/2019 at 11:33 AM, Jolemai said: Welcome to part three of the Blood Angels Unit of the Week Series! Following the release of the 9th edition Supplement, there is no better time to discuss all the units we have access to. Each week a different unit will appear, with the idea being that we discuss how best to use that model on the battlefield. Where part one will focus on the unique BA units and part two will focus on BA units that are new to this edition of the Codex, part three will discuss how to get the best use the generic units from the past that are still with us (and that many of us have in our armies still), and part four will discuss the Legends units that we still own and love. Forge World and Forge World Legends comprise parts five and six. Note, this isn't to lament any nerfs, etc, from previous editions; the rules are as they are so try to unlock its potential for those who wish to use them all the same. Similarly, this thread is only for using the option being discussed; it matters not if you feel something is a better choice as such comments aren't constructive to the topic and shall be removed. Without further ado, here's this week's entry: Librarian Librarian, RedemptionNL What are you thoughts here folks? How best would you use a Librarian? To compliment a list, or to build a list around? Will the Chapter Approved and Balance Dataslate changes affect your list(s)? Will you be running multiples? Footslog, jump pack, or transport? Suitable for Warlord duties? What spells are you taking and does this affect what you run them alongside? Are you buffing this unit? If so, how? Stratagems of note? Over to you Please note that other Librarian datasheets (i.e TDA Librarian) are discussed elsewhere and links to these can be found in the Index listed above Updated for Arks of Omen. Following the reduction in points, Firstborn Librarians with a jump pack are seeing a mini revival with the focus being on Null Zone (when needed), Psychic Fortress (when out in the open now Armour of Contempt is no more), and Veil of Time (to give things further away a charge reroll) - and a (hidden?) combiweapon of some sort. How would you run these? Are you doing anything different with your PA Firstborn psykers?
