Zephaniah Adriyen
So, a little backstory. I've got a hobby/games store within driving distance of me which sells both brand-new models and secondhand ones in plastic bags. I got paid yesterday, so I decided to head up there to look through the bargain bin. Lo and behold, they had a squad of Asuryani Guardians and a Land Speeder, just waiting to be bought. They also had some other stuff I was interested in, such as a Tech-Priest Dominus for $10, but I was more interested in the Land Speeder. I didn't look really closely; I saw a low-quality paint job, and therefore something which REALLY needed work, but it wasn't until I got home I saw just how bad it was. Observe. Note this is after a bit of a re-pose by yours truly, from the standard to something a bit more dynamic. Otherwise, model is unaltered. The assault cannon seems to be off of a metal Land Speeder, and all the weapons are coated in a red glaze. The Aquila on the hood is coated in a blue glaze, and the rest is a sloppy black basecoat. I'll be putting a new paint job over it to make it look at least passable, then probably field it, since it was only $10 and I am in dire need of new vehicles for my Astartes list. Bryan Blaire
That actually looks like it's from the era when the Land Speeder Tornado and Typhoon upgrades were in metal, not plastic (I've still got a couple of those sitting at home in a box). Quite familiar with that gap in the nose, it was a right pain to try and get rid of. Good luck with the redux! brother tycho
My vote is get yourself a bottle of Dettol and strip the paint back, and a stick of milliput which is truly a dream for gap filling, you can sand it back after a few hours. Yes what a great model, not sure how it goes in current edition on the table but who cares.
