White scars is my vote

I appreciate that. I have to decide soon. I just put the two ATV's together and they are slowly growing on me. I can't help but feel they aren't the smartest unit for UM's, and would indeed fit my WS better, however I think for approx 85pts, they are darn good in pairs in nearly any army.

But for the biker Chaplain, yea... I can't see him being useful with the UM's, and will most likely join the Scars.

Havent posted here in a while so I guess il show some stuff I have been working on. As a sidenote, been somewhat slowing down on the UM because I also spend time on to many other things. . necrons, iyanden, epic eldar, aeronautica imperialis. Yah. . im painting 2 hours a day minimum for a year now since I picked up the hobby. Its a much better save file then any digital game can offer though ;).

Lets start cute, UM epic vehichles, focussing on getting the Epic Eldar finished first but these are some test models for the marines.

Lastly something I want to show non UM related. I got this model for free from a dude at work for helping him to sell his army (he had no contacts whereas I still have a lot from 15 years ago so I got him a better price then he expected.) Initially I considered keeping it for myself, applied metal and blue primary layers and then put him in the display case to think about it. Later on decided I should spend the time painting UM's, untill my mate asks me if he can buy the model. He never touched a brush in his life and never will, always buying prepainted models so he paid me for 4 hours.

Was a good challenge but seriously making my OCD tilt as I could not finish what I wanted. Regardless, I think I did do a ton of work in those 4 hours.

Had to make choices so I opted to put most of the focus on the parts which you will look at mostly on the tabletop (front and top) I didn't get to finish his arms or legs as I wanted to my own tabletop quality standard.

Ofc this thing needed some basing, I know my mate loves imperial guard so I decided to be nice and finish it like this.

People can say a lot of things about Ultramarines players, but it can't be denied some of the most talented artists in the hobby collect Ultramarines.

:)

Hi All,

Right now i'm working on a batch of 20 Assault intercessors and 10 Incursors/Infiltrators. I've modelled 5 of each from the Saga of the beast set i got way back in March? I wanted them both for different uses.

I intend on doing different paint schemes on the assault intercessors chainswords to mark out 5 man squads.

I have, like many others i imagine, a large back log of models which at some point will see the end of a brush. I spent most of the year getting through a large Ork back log and now im doing the marines from the Indomitus set.

I already painted the majority of 2 Indomitus boxes of Necrons

I remember first painting and doing only 5 of something was hard work but the more you practice the quicker and more precise you are and the less mistakes you make where you have to go back in and retouch a previous colour.

I have quite a lof of things arriving from big Santy C. Ive been a good boy this year!

2 Gladiator tanks and another Red Dread, a tech marine, A necrons BF Box , doom stalker, more immortals, preatorians, command barge, a shokk jump dragsta and tank busters for the orks, a necron lord, some more skorpekh destroyers.

I will be getting some Heavy intercessors and one of the new speeders.

If you are interested Below is the colour scheme i use for my UM.

I follow a tutorial from YT for my UM blue. Its all done with the airbrush which makes batch painting a doddle.

Start with a black prime, then a white zenithal highlight. Then hit all over with Vallejo Model air Blue and the zenithal keeps the shadows dark and the top brighter. Then hit 80% of the model with Vallejo Royal Blue avoiding the underside of the model unless its on a raised arm or an element you can see from the front.

Then add some vallejo sky blue into the previous mix and use this only on upper chest, knees, pouldrons, helmet, back pack, rear of legs if protruding.

Then add Grey green to the previous mix and add a spot highlight to the very highest or bits of interest.

I have to go back in with inks to reestablish the midtones and then black/hull red for shadows.

You then have to go in and precisely panel line with blue an dblack in mix with a little flow improver. This is the most time consuming element but it makes everything pop so when you edge highlight you get amazing contrast.

Back working on my 30K Ultramarines for a bit, I have hobby butterfly syndrome so keep jumping between these guys and my Homebrew Chapter. Just finished up my Warmonger though, aiming to get a 1000 point Zone Mortalis list painted up over the christmas break. May have bit off more than I can chew but at least its something to keep me busy!

Im still working on it but so far I am really satisfied with how it turns out. Shame I will most likely not use this model with this codex. Opted to go for the rule of cool for my display case and took the Lancer because I like long barrels on tanks.

After many sleepless nights i decided that i have to do brighter highlights. I started with my Lieutenant.

I bought some more Firstborn for the first time in a long time, a new box of tactical marines and a box of devastators. I've currently got the Devs sub assembled and basecoated, along with a couple of Tactical marines.

I'll use the spare heavy weapons to make more devastators, although there is something special about just making a standard, bolter wielding battle brother.

My Primaris are predominantly 7th Co, (purple trim) but some may be elevated to the 4th Co, ready for the arrival of their Captain in Feb, so that's something else to work on.

I just got the Recruit and Command edition starter sets to expand my Emperor's Spears. Gonna be building those today.

Well, less 'expand' and more 'have more models to paint because I can never start an army in a small manner' :laugh.:

Current roster of my Spears is such:

  1. Contents of Dark Imperium (sans Gravis Captain)
  2. Contents of Know no Fear
  3. Intercessor Squad
  4. Hellblaster Squad
  5. Sternguard Veterans
  6. Contents of Indomitus
  7. Contents of Recruit Edition
  8. Contents of Command Edition
  9. Assault Intercessors  x2
  10. Gladiator Reaper
  11. Primaris Techmarine
  12. Primaris Chaplain on Bike
  13. Redemptor Dreadnought

Skovakarah uhl zarûn!
