Lord_Caerolion
It could be that he'll be rolled out as part of a Gravis/Vehicles expansion, similar to how Calgar was brought out during the storyline releasing the Phobos/Vanguard Marines. Panzer
Could be but that would be an extremely early reveal then. I don't think they'll give us the next Primaris wave this soon after the Vanguard Primaris already. Lord Nord in Gravis Armour
Could be but that would be an extremely early reveal then. I don't think they'll give us the next Primaris wave this soon after the Vanguard Primaris already. Well, it WAS only two months after Dark Imperium came out that the Multi-Part Kits were released and there were a slew of additional Primaris units unveiled at that time (Reivers, Aggressors, the Redemptor, the Repulsor, and the Primaris versions of the Chaplain, Librarian, Apothecary, and non-Gravis Captain). Multi-part kit versions of the Shadowspear units should be coming soon. I expect they'll be accompanied by at least a few new kits. Panzer
Yeah but that was the start of a whole model line. It's to be expected to be bigger than the waves coming afterwards which just build upon that basis model line. ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/355723-named-iron-father/page/2/#findComment-5308526 Share on other sites
Lord Nord in Gravis Armour
Well, we'll soon see. I personally expect there are a couple of units that would have been out of place with the stealth theme of Shadowspear that we could see soon. As we have seen with the Techpriest Manipulus and the Kelermorph - if it's a fancy new model, fans will even buy boxed sets with stuff they have in abundance. Either they release the Iron Father as part of a release wave, or bundled with some other stuff you might or might not need. Release wave would obviosly be the better choice for us, index article and/or upgrade sprue would be a nice bonus but I'm not counting on it. And I've decided - mine will be switched to AdMech red, to run with my half dozen knights in that scheme. And the ordinatus, once it gets its rules back. Cybercrow
I don't get the complaints that he "looks like a Primaris", guys, Primaris are going to replace all marines. Jesus Goodwin says it straight out in Voxcast. Accept it and move on already. I mean I do believe they are the way going forward, but it's wrong that Jes Goodwin said so. Nobody from GW anywhere said straight out that Primaris are going to replace all Marines so far. Well, Jes did call them the marine redesign several times. A redesign is a replacement. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/355723-named-iron-father/page/2/#findComment-5308816 Share on other sites
Midnight Brotherhood
I like the model and tempted to turn it into a Warpsmith. I'm struggling to get over those 80s platform shoes though, I'm gonna have to do something about those! Guest Iron Father Bahadur
It could be that he'll be rolled out as part of a Gravis/Vehicles expansion, similar to how Calgar was brought out during the storyline releasing the Phobos/Vanguard Marines. I hope this is true. I love Gravis pattern armor, and I love tanks. I want more of both desperately. Heavy armor + Gravis is the logical progression from Vanguard, but Vanguard just doesn't feel "finished" yet which makes me nervous there won't be that much on the heavier side of things beyond the named character. Lord Nord in Gravis Armour
Release wave would obviosly be the better choice for us, index article and/or upgrade sprue would be a nice bonus but I'm not counting on it. I'm trying not to expect a heavy AdMech/Iron Hands presence in the next campaign, but with the releases we know are coming (Admech tank/transport, Iron Hands Master of the Forge, Primaris tank) and the expectation that Ferrus' killer Fulgrim and his Astartes will be getting a focus soon, it's tough to not jump to that conclusion. That said, the only releases specific to Iron Hands I would expect (aside from Feirros) would be the standard lieutenant and an upgrade sprue, but if they used the occasion to bring in some Gravis-armored melee dudes, a generic Primaris techmarine, and a thunderfire equivalent, along with maybe an as-yet-unteased Repulsor Transport variant, I wouldn't complain. (Although I'd REALLY like to see what a Primaris Helfather would look like and packaging a couple of them with Feirros like they did with the Victrix Guard and Calgar would be dandy). And hopefully if there's anything to those IH vs. EC rumors, we'd also get a campaign book with Hands-specific specialist detachments and additional stratagems, along with some more generic rules for the rest of the new Primaris stuff (the Shadowspear guys all came out after Vigilus Defiant, so they still don't have any specialist detachments either). It's fun to speculate, anyway. Soon enough, June will be along to crush all my dreams and leave me hoping for four pages in White Dwarf. I think this will be close. Let's also look at what hasn't dropped yet outside of boxed kits: 1. Imperial Fists Sprue 2. Phobos Libarian - Standalone 3. Phobos Captain - Standalone 4. Lieutenant - from the eldar box, he's setup to be a clampack clearly. Items we know are coming: 1. Repulsor Variant 2. Iron Hands character I wouldn't be shocked if we see vanguard multipart, as well as upgrade sprues for remaining codex chapters. I think the wild card is do we see a wider vehicle release too - if so, I do think you're right that we'll get a Primaris Techmarine, but I reckon we'll see another dreadnought variant as well. Throw another sprue in the repulsor kit and good to go. Wouldn't surprise me if they handle vanguard by throwing another sprue in the reiver kit with heads/guns/backpacks and call it done.
