+++Blood Angels Outpost+++

Recommended Posts

There are no special rules for LR Proteus for post-Heresy 40K. I would suggest counting it as LR Phobos (standard LR). The only problem is that LR Phobos comes with a Heavy Bolter, which is missing on the Proteus. Adding a Multi-Melta is no problem.

Generally it goes like this:

Land Raider (Phobos) - 297pts (including 2xTwin-lascanon and twin Heavy bolter)

Options:

-Multi-melta - 22pts

-Hunter-killer missile - 6pts

-Storm bolter - 2pts

LR Redeemer is 284pts (including 2x Flamestorm canon, Frag assault launchers and Twin assault canon)

Options:

-Multi-melta - 22pts

-Hunter-killer missile - 6pts

-Storm bolter - 2pts

There is such a thing its a Relic Land Raider Proteus, in the FW Imperial Armour Index. It is 264pts no wargear or weapons. With the weapons and all the extra trimmings, and Multi Melta its 335pts.

Ooooh, good catch! My bad for not scrolling down the list to the 'relic' section :whistling:

So to omplete the above:

305pts for the Proteus with 2x Twin lascanon (default)

Options:
- Hull weapon (choose one): Heavy Bolter 10pts

                                             Multi-melta 22pts

                                             Twin heavy bolter 17pts

                                             Twin heavy flamer 28pts

- Hunter-killer missile - 6pts

- Storm bolter - 2pts

There is such a thing its a Relic Land Raider Proteus, in the FW Imperial Armour Index. It is 264pts no wargear or weapons. With the weapons and all the extra trimmings, and Multi Melta its 335pts.

Base cost for the relic proteus in imperial armour was reduced in chapter approved 2018 to 225, excluding the mandatory twin lascannon. Optional add-on weapon is one of Heavy bolter, Multi-melta,Twin heavy bolter, Twin heavy flamer; can also add a hunter-killer and/or pintle stormbolter. (can also take an augury web which reduces transport capacity and doesn't appear to have a cost)

I don't know what options it actually comes with in the box, but the highest value I think you could equip for ETL purposes (from CA2018) is base + 2x twin lascannon + HK missile + storm bolter + twin heavy flamer

i.e. 225 + 2x40 + 6 + 2 + 28 = 341pts.

If you go for the multimelta which is 22, it's 335pts, or 17 for the twin heavy bolter totals 330pts.

Maxed out 'godhammer' is two twin lascannon, twin heavy bolter plus optional multimelta, HK missile and storm bolter so

200 + 2x40 + 17 + 22 + 6 + 2 = 327 pts

and maxed out redeemer is two flamestorm, twin asscannon, plus optional multimelta, HK missile and storm bolter

180 + 2x30 + 44 + 22 + 6 + 2 = 314 pts

for a grand max total of 982 pts, or 976pts if you go with the multimelta on the proteus.

I'd expect a mod to have better photography. :tongue.:

But really though, excellent seeing the Reclusiarch participate, with Land Raiders, no less. I apologize for not finishing my own vow, I've had a lot going on lately. I hope to finish it soon, but it's not looking good, especially after ruining one of the Tacticals with my first attempt at Contrast Red.

Hehe - stacked landraiders. Did that once in a game in 2nd edition. I think a shok attack gun was involved(?) but 3 wrecked landraiders got dumped on top of 1 terminator captain in 1 round. He got pancaked... Good times.

Good progress all around though peeps -Zephaniah Adriyen you'll finish when you finish and thats fine.

Right folks, the grind is on. Now is when we kick on and start to turn the screw.

Semper is still due to post the faction summary but we're sat in second on ETL score which is a good place to be atm as at the end of the week it's the half way point already! Focus on the grind and ride the momentum out through August!

Don't be disheartened and try again :) I literally didn't do my characters for almost twenty years as I thought I wasn't good enough when in hindsight I could have always stripped it and tried again.

Even super-humans like us Blood Angels make mistakes. What makes us great is to learn from them. You can always post s picture for some pointers if you haven't already :)

+++ETL VII - WEEK 5 UPDATE+++

During Week 5 we saw the closing of the gates to new participants and by now the teams are fixed. It is evident that Chaos Space Marines have by far the biggest following with 71, followed by the Space Marines with 53. This is quite an advantage for the CSMs but remains to be seen what they’ll make of it. On a faction level the picture is quite the opposite with SMs having 151 participants and CSMs just 76.

Now let’s see Week 5 results at a glance:

FACTIONS

FACTION: ADEPTUS ASTARTES

As expected, the Astartes is the most populous Faction. With 151 participants they have a huge advantage, as is their 115.6k pts pledged – by far the highest number vs. any other Faction. But this must also translate to completions and at the moment, the Astartes have a completion rate virtually at the average of the ETL – so given their superior numbers they are in a good place. However more needs to be done, it’s early and have just the ETL average CR, won’t be enough in the final stages of the event.

FORUM: BLOOD ANGELS

The BAs have managed a respectable 37 participants getting them at par with the DAs. But they enjoy a much higher average vow that leads to a significant 7.7k pts advantage over the latter. However, they are still 10.6k pts behind the SMs – a significant gap that can only be mitigated through a high completion rate. Currently they have achieved that with a completion rate some 5 percentage points higher than the SMs and that translates to a superior score. However, the ETL is a marathon, not a sprint, and given their limited resources, the BAs must maintain the pace throughout the event. The low re-vowing rate of just 14%, is cause for alarm.

We've got a splurge coming soon, get those vows in and their replacements!

WIP time! This is what I was able to do over the weekend. I'm hoping to get the base done and start on the arms tonight and hopefully have it complete by Wednesday. The time I invested was only a fraction of the last one or at least that's my perception of how long it took, as such I feel the quality has suffered a bit but I do think it's still a strong finish for my capability. Maybe after ETL I'll go back and think up some heraldry for the shields on the shoulder and ankle and maybe something for the scroll work or maybe even attempt the Carmine Blades icon somewhere. (I'll need to practice on paper a bit before though)

I spagunk rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX on the side of the Blood Angels and vow to complete one Sternguard Veteran Squad of total value 134 points on or before September 1st, 2019. Success will bring me eternal glory and failure will doom me to wear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end

Vow Complete:

gallery_40907_9492_47574.jpg

Here you see a squad of Legion Tactical Veteran Marines (Sternguard) with combi-plasma purging a world that chose not to become compliant with the Imperial Truth. The great Sanguinius has tasked this detachment with the truly dismal and mournful task of purging a local town of those that would deny the Emperor's grace and care. Truly the great angel weeps for the souls who chose to turn their backs on their liberator and benevolent master!

Will try to take individual shots and post them in another thread so you can see what i've done.

P.S. Baal was a blast.

Bah, of course it was! BTW, it would be nice if the so called Great Devourer set up a party of his own and invited us for a change. So far it's known mostly from coming uninvited and eating all the good (and bad) stuff :dry.:

I wonder if I can fit a Hierophant on the base of a Scout...

Even Epic scale-one is bigger than a regular 40k marine. Unless, you know - puddle of blood: count-as-Hierophant :D

To be fair, some of our "water" ate a good amount of them this time as well. :D

They've turned out really well; great colours, poses, and bases to give a really unique SG look which I may consider for my Mk IIIs. Well done!

I recall this being a stretch for you but is that you done for this year or is there another possible vow choice?

I've gone one other item I can throw in. Let me get things together and see what I can come up with.

My infantry are mostly done. I have a few finishing touches to put on some of them but I'm about ready to start on the vehicles (Raven, Command Tanks, Dread) - hopefully with the airbrush I can get them done at a decent pace. Plus the final Captain when I decide exactly what colour scheme he'll have.
