Captain Semper
+++T’AU EMPIRE OUTPOST+++ Welcome to the T’au Empire Outpost. The T’au Empire belongs to the “Xenos” Faction. HERE IS WHERE YOU MUST POST YOUR VOWS Here you must also post your “before” and “after” pics of your vows as well as any WIP you may want to share. You may also use this thread to discuss the progress of the event with your fellow participants, exchange ideas, offer and receive modelling/painting advice and generally have some ETL–related fun! Here you’ll be able to submit vows that include the following units: · Codex: T’au Empire· Chapter Approved 2018: The Eight· Imperial Armour Index – Xenos: o All units from the “T’au Empire” list · Index Imperium 2: o All units from the Fortifications list IMPORTANT NOTE: ALWAYS USE THE LATEST PUBLICATION TO SELECT AND PRICE YOUR UNITSArmy lists are constantly updated through a number of publications: new Codices, Chapter Approved, White Dwarf, Forge World PDFs (even experimental ones), Errata, you name it. You must always make sure that you use the most recent list to “price” your units. That said, the original Indices that were released at the dawn of the 40k 8thEdition, in some cases contain units that did not make it to the Codex (or any subsequent publication). In that case you may still use them and “price” them from the Index list. Note that this applies ONLY to the units that did not make it to the Codex. You may not use the Index to “price” units that appear in the Codex or any later publication. If in doubt, contact me to avoid confusion. Before you post you vow make sure you familiarise yourself with the ETL VII rules. You can find a link below: THE RULES OF ETL VII CAN BE FOUND HERE Also, please take the time to go through the Spirit of the ETL to give you an insight of the “unwritten” rules. You can find the link below: THE SPIRIT OF THE ETL +++FOR THE GREATER GOOD!+++

elmo
It is as we join with others, in a way that only the Tau can, in shared engagement to the Greater Good, that we find ourselves able to fully realize our true potential. And that is the final source of our hopes and intentions.Aun'el T'au Tam'ya, Ethereal caste

Leviathus
Ok, I want to help the T'au out this year. I'm painting some for my kill team anyway, but I'm guessing entering two or three Pathfinders and Fire Warriors is not allowed for the ETL. However, I want to paint some commanders up too so I do submit those. Will take the vow as soon as I have the models :)
Captain Semper
Great! And yes, all entries should be 40k-legal i'm afraid... But if you have some models lying around, you may as well fill them in - even if they are superfluous for Kill Team purposes...

Will take the vow as soon as I have the models Keep in mind that you are supposed to play Kill Team with a full roster and only select your team from that depending on the mission and your opponent, so I'm sure a full unit of Pathfinders and Firewarriors will come in handy even for just Kill Team. ;)
Leviathus
Oh definitely. Looked up the units in the codex and can for sure do some 5 man (or more, we'll see) units of Pathfinders and/or Fire Warriors. Anyway, have to make a list and order a commander or two :) Good luck guys, and for the Greater Good!
Commander Dawnstar
Looking at things as they are now, I think it's very reasonable to assume that I'll be able to get my first vow finished within the first fortnight of the event. There's a very solid chance that I'll be able to get three Broadsides finished by the end of Wednesday, basing aside, and if I can repeat that pace then I might enter the second week with only the Commander and Drones to go. Feeling pretty positive.

Commander Dawnstar
I'm not finished with them yet, as should be reasonably obvious, but here's how my first three Broadsides are looking at this time:
Captain Semper
Very aggressive postures! Red complements grey very well (as any Space Wolf player would tell you) and I really like the subtle... lighter grey (?) for the leg stripes. Urban camo? Keep going man! :TU:

Marshal van Trapp
Guess I'm up now: I, Fi'o Brightstar, do hereby pledge my Purifier cadre to the effort of E Tenebrae Lux in the sum of 1660 points. I vow to complete the following units on or before September 1st, 2019. Success will bring me eternal glory and failure will doom me to wear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end. My units: 2 quad fusion coldstar commanders 1 ethereal on hover drone 2 8-man firewarrior strike squads 6 crisis suits with triple plasma 3 stealth suits with homing beacon 1 ghostkeel with fusion blaster and Cyclic ion raker 10 pathfinders with 3 ion rifles and a recon drone 20 drones (I have 6 shield, 6 guns, and 8 markers built but I plan to build more shield and gun drones bottoms to fill out the squads properly instead of using the marker drones but since the points are all the same I figured I'd just pledge them and if I get to building and priming the other bottoms I will do it properly) 3 broadsides with railguns and plasma rifles If you need me to take pics of the plasma rifles on the sprues and the drone bits lemme know and I shall oblige
Captain Semper
I'm basically just immitating this piece but for Ksi'm'yen rather than Sa'cea. That’s some great art! And a very good execution from your end! Very aggressive postures! Red complements grey very well (as any Space Wolf player would tell you) and I really like the subtle... lighter grey (?) for the leg stripes. Urban camo? Keep going man! :tu: The leg stripes are basically markings T'au pilots use to individualise their suits and to show they belong to eachother if in a squad. ;) Yes... personally (when I was into Tau back in the day) I went for high contrast for those stripes. But in this case the contrast is achieved by the red missiles and the soon to arrive yellow helmets (assuming the art will be followed through). So the subtle stripes work very well! :)
