Sherrypie
Thanks Cordova and TC, looking forwards to creating some... memorable... games with them. Meanwhile, painted a squadron of Valkyries for today's game. Selen II's armoured brigade can finally field infantry as well now that they have *some* proper transports for them :D SirTainly, Brother Captain Vakarian, Firedrake Cordova and 5 others 2 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357330-echoes-of-eisenstein-upscaling-madness-with-the-xiv/page/21/#findComment-6120916 Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
Really nice work - lots of contrast and readability (I do really like the Valkyrie models ... shame they're not available any more) Edited July 11 by Firedrake Cordova Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357330-echoes-of-eisenstein-upscaling-madness-with-the-xiv/page/21/#findComment-6120962 Share on other sites

Yeah, in smaller scale the flying lunch box is great. I lucked out when one member of our club just had a box of these lying around unused. This time in Epic gaming: a three-way variant of the Battle of the Sulphur River, 4k NetEA armies (to win you must control the bridges and roadside towns). We altered the initiative system slightly so that each player could make one activation on both opposing fronts and retain on one of them before passing the initiative to avoid the common three player death-spiral where you must do something against one player while repeatedly getting pummeled by the other without time to respond. It worked really well. The Orks and Imperial Fists went hard at each other, giving the PDF tankers ample time to roll over and smash their bridges clear with tonnes of merciless steel, ultimately taking the third bridge as well with a daring Valkyrie drop of stormtroopers who had gotten themselves together after spending most of the game panicking in a corner after repelling an orbital Ork drop hurtling towards them through the nearby office tower. Sherrypie
The galaxy is dark and full of terrors. We've had an upsurge of retro 40k at the club, so of course I had to try a quick OG Screamer-Killer to test out a paint scheme update for the Nids I've had sitting in a box for 20 years. The real impetus for this test was actually BFG, as I've been eyeing repainting the buggers ever since the start of the year and trying to figure out a good way to spice up my old "black with green ink, bone with brown ink" trainwreck without having to prime them all again. This might be workable. Sherrypie
Thank you @Firedrake Cordova and @Operative23 :) The scheme tests continue. Updating my BFG 'Nids that I built as a teenager sometime before 2010. They used to be pretty sloppy work, lots of green and chestnut ink all over the place. Time for a bit of new polish, now. At this point it has inks, contrasts, fluo paints and the kitchen sink barring nuclear waste in the mix, so it damn well should :D Firedrake Cordova 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357330-echoes-of-eisenstein-upscaling-madness-with-the-xiv/page/21/#findComment-6123178 Share on other sites
