Echoes of Eisenstein - upscaling madness with the XIV

Prepped a couple of quick Deathstrikes and banners for tomorrow's Epic game. Deathstrikes temporarily on extra Russ chassii until I can get a suitable batch of lighter hulls. Had to repaint everything after my varnish decided to dry white in all recesses

They look great!  That's frustrating with the frosting - I've found mineral oil can be pretty good for unfrosting things if you don't want to repaint them - did that to save a hellbrute and heldrake that I had that problem with.

Oof, that sounds frustrating with the varnish!

Cheers lads. Yeah, I tried to re-varnish them and wet them a bit more to work it but alas, it was not meant to be. The models also absolutely failed miserably on their first outing, as is tradition :D

 

4x 5k NetEA, Nids & Eldar vs. IG & IF, escalating forces brought in three waves. The local farming community had their day ruined while no decisive military victory was to be declared by any side. Shoutout to the one bio-titan that survived about eight Volcano cannon shots and for the other one that survived two Deathstrikes with only one damage incurred.

Apocalypse-class battleship The Mighty Ride of the Firelord sets sail towards the stars. An afternoon's paintjob which almost failed at the start, when my superglue exploded all over the base :D

Set up two tables for today's games, had a nice couple of 3k GT NetEA rounds with eldar, orks, admech and marines present. My dubstep cannon of doom performed well against both varieties of xenos, blowing up steam gargants and shredding infantry formations like there's no tomorrow.

 

Even if the gargants are holding hands like the most wholesome xenos Teletubbies that they are, in wub-wub we must purge them.

Light cruiser Harvest of Sorrow and its Nightshade escorts Blood Tears slid into the void from their piratical hideaways yesterday.

 

 

Only a whole lot more to go before the pointy-eared buccaneers can actually hit the field :D

AT gaming for a change. Legio Krytos bounced hard from Favilla's siege lines today, hounded to death by smaller engines of the Ashen Gods in a flurry of plasma explosions and whirring chainfists. Turns out that a deep deployment with built-for-melee Ferrox Reavers running on Ignatum rules setting up right in the enemy's grill... hurts.

One of our Kill Team regulars wrote simplified lists without gazillion special rules to play around with wackier scenarios and chill, so we tested them today with a trio of narrative games. A mining planet's gubernator went on a run with his treasure-laden train and our intrepid workers graciously rid him of such burdens by repossessing his ride from full speed.

If they get the train up to 88mph, it goes back in time to the beginning of the game and you have to play it again :)

All of this is excellent work. What is the name of the three-finned Eldar fighter in the Epic photos?

The Epic Eldar vehicles are all unique digital conversions our Eldar player has made from various STLs floating around the web. If memory serves, they were ran as Phoenix bombers.

Finished with the corsair ships that I had, finally playable at 1200 or so points. What is this, a whole project taken to the end or something? Inconceivable! :D
