Spaced Hulk
Cheers! The body and head are both from Kromlech. They do two sets of Primaris scaled models with robes and tabards. I bought them originally for my Dark Angels, but this one in particular seemed perfect as an alternative Chaplain model. Metzombie
Very cool looking Chaplain. What paints do you use for the gold on the shoulderpads? Spaced Hulk
Cheers! It's GW Brass Scorpion, one of my favourite metallics. I must confess, I actually copied that part of the scheme (and the idea of varying which armour plates are bronze) from Lord Valrak's Executioners, which were a big inspiration for this army. Spaced Hulk
No worries mate. They're all nice sculpts so I don't think you'll be disappointed. I finished building the Deathspeaker today. Pretty happy with the end result, so I've taken a few more pics before I prime him. Holstered Absolver bolt pistol (for Travis Bickle/Dirty Harry impressions): Obligatory chained holy Tome. Includes an optional human thighbone for use as a book mark: I wanted the back mounted skulls to mirror the sculpted detail on his chest. Not sure whether they're a shrine of Imperial heroes or trophies taken from vile heretics. Obviously I'm thinking of a predominantly black colour scheme, perhaps using a very dark grey for the tabard & hood, with a metallic looking black for the armour. Finally, I've also finished building and priming a load more Intercessors: PowerHungryMonkey and brother tycho 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357517-spaced-hulks-sons-of-dorn/page/2/#findComment-5417381 Share on other sites

Spaced Hulk
Decided to roll my Crimson Fists into this thread as well. Like the Executioners, these are still at a very WIP stage: Battle Brother Montana "Say hello to my little friend!" Pretty much finished, just need to apply some transfers. Next up is the Intercessor Sergeant to lead Montana's squad. He's based on a classic GW Veteran Srg model, and inspired by an awesome conversion by Brother Chaplain Kage. Finally for today, here's the commander of my Crimson Fists strike force: "Recovered from the genestealer infested depths of a vast space hulk, the body of Crimson Fist's Captain Alessio Cortez was shattered beyond the limits of even his legendary resilience. Only by crossing the perilous Rubicon Primaris was he able to survive and resume his duties to his Chapter. Now, reborn as a Primaris Space Marine, he continues to test his endurance and new found abilities like never before, unceasing in his fight against the enemies of the Imperium." Kolgrim DeathHowl
Oh man that's a great idea! There's another old school sergeant where he has a storm bolter in one hand and he's lifting a sword up in the air you should do too. I can get a picture I've got one of them lying around here I salvaged the storm bolter from ages ago. I took a quick picture of the model I'm talking about. Spaced Hulk
That's the old Captain model from the end of 2nd Edition/start of 3rd (I have a couple of those stashed away somewhere too). It's tempting, but I'm pretty sure it's been the inspiration for both the multi-part Captain and the standard Primaris Captain already. Not sure how I'd represent the storm bolter either, as I'm trying to stay WYSIWYG. Will give it some thought though Kolgrim DeathHowl 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357517-spaced-hulks-sons-of-dorn/page/2/#findComment-5427791 Share on other sites

Spaced Hulk
Well it's been quite a while since I last updated this blog. However, I have made a bit of progress with my Executioners: This Marine with the Mark 3 helm is part of a Veteran Intercessor/Sternguard squad. My head canon is that they're members of the original Chapter who survived it's penitent crusade and then crossed the Rubicon to become Primaris marines. I've also built a couple of new HQ models. A Deathspeaker Chaplain wielding twin crozius arcanums: And a Primaris Captain: I couldn't decide which head to use, so I ended up magnetising them both. Thanks for looking! ☺ Edited July 21, 2020 by Spaced Hulk Marius Perdo, Pearson73, Elzender and 7 others 10 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357517-spaced-hulks-sons-of-dorn/page/2/#findComment-5567588 Share on other sites

Bjorn Firewalker
Your Executioners are well-painted. The WIP models look most promising; the many skulls adorning them, give them so much character.
