I heard something about fluff changes and Castellan Draco (A Black Templar) get communitcate traitoris... Are there any informations?

Draco is mentioned as someone whom Tor Garadon has worked with in the past (along with others).

Also looks like we have a new chapter master for the Fists. Again. Gregor Dessian.

EDIT: found it:

War has taken too many of Garadon’s battle-brothers, his fellow Captains amongst them. Of his allies beyond the Chapter, Tycho was lost to the Black Rage on Armageddon; Sicarius is missing, swallowed by the tides of the Immaterium; Brasch perished in the firestorms of Ghola; and Draco was declared excommunicate traitoris for deeds too terrible to recount.

Edit 2: So even in all Primaris army showings (like the "example army" stuff in the codex) in the codex GW is showing off Centurions, so it looks like those can be considered something we'll be keeping around for the forseeable future.

Considering a part of the fluff specifically mentions the fact that centurion warsuits have become so commonly used by all the companies that no one is sure if they still fall under direct control of the master of the forge like other veichles or not (the alternative being that cents have become company assets that fall directly under captains' command), that seems a given

Looks like there are some decent options around with the “Gifts of the Phalanx” Strategem, giving a Sgt specialist wargear with the one that caught my eye being the Master Crafter option.

Anyone looking at this? Seems like it might be very powerful, Centurion Sgt with a Master Crafted Hurricane Bolter (!) or Heavy Bolter? Aggressor Sgt with Master Crafter Bolt Gauntlets?

Awkward to get into position and just painting an even bigger target on the unit but that Master Crafter Hurricane Bolter sounds brutal no?

Only applies to heavy weapons so the bolt gauntlets don’t get the doctrine bonus damage I don’t believe...but your right sorry that the master crafted bonus applies to both surely as they are a one weapon yes? Good question actually. Just looking at their rules the bolt storm gauntlet is one weapon with two options so master crafted makes the damage +1 which ever way you use it.

Master crafted Las Fusil doing flat 5 damage to vehicles lol

From the Supplement FAQs...

Q. If I select a weapon with more than one profile for the Master-crafted Weapon Special Issue Wargear (e.g. a plasma pistol), does the increased Damage characteristic apply to all profiles of that weapon, or must I select which profile of that weapon is improved?

A: Add 1 to the Damage characteristic of all profiles of that weapon. Note that weapons with similar names but listed separately in the weapons table, such as boltstorm gauntlet (melee) and boltstorm gauntlet (shooting) are considered separate weapons, rather than the same weapon with different profiles.

Well that’s answered that then. For the best as well because I’m not sure I would have wanted to waste a CP on that. But the las fusil being flat 5 damage is a cool idea. Or as mentioned the hurricane Bolter on a cent. Edited by Utter Polux

Do you think it would benefit them? At -3 ap and -4 in the Devastator doctrine, does -5 make a big enough difference?

Most tanks have 3+ save so -4 means no save. So we’re talking about 2+ save vehicles aren’t we. Which ones have a 2+? Levi and Land Raiders do don’t they?

Diminishing returns at that point really, but putting a fairly easy 5 damage on any vehicle I like.

Think in my first game I'm going to try the Aggressors pistol. More chance of it actually shooting than the Centurions Hurricane Bolter, as funny as a damage 2 Hurricane Bolter would be!

I have to admit I hadn't allowed for the -1 AP for Devastator doctrine as we won't always be in Dev Doc.

Storm of Fire and Dev Doctrine do not stack.

You want Storm of Fire for your Devastator centurions which have heavy bolters and hurricane bolters, meaning if in dev doctrine the hurricane bolters benefit from SoF, But not for their Heavy Bolters.

I’m planning on sticking the fist of Terra on a veteran intercessor sergeant....

3a base for being a sergeant +1A for being a veteran intercessor +1A for charge/charged and +1A for just having the fist of Terra, and if things get really aligned +1A for shield unwavering if with range of an objective

All hitting on 3’s because of the no negative to hit

That sounds like a lot of fun. Now just add Pedro for another +1A and of course the rerolls to hit. Sweet.

I really must do that some time.

Also can you give a Lt the Fist of Terra? Does it have to replace a power fist?

Yes and yes, the fist of terra is a "special issue wargear" so you can use the strat to give a sergeant a piece of special issue wargear and the fist requires the model to have a PF already

So you can’t give it to a Primaris Lt? So annoying! I just want to give out one decent power fist relic to a Primaris Lt. Might have to go for Pedro another captain and let the captain have a special power fist. Silly that GW doesn’t allow us to give a Lt a power fist.

Can you give the fist of terra to Pedro?
