Ishagu
5 isn't enough. If you're running them bring a unit of 10. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/358127-stalker-pattern-bolt-rifles/page/2/#findComment-5381637 Share on other sites
NatBrannigan
The unit of 10 is clearly better but I'm trying to fill out 2 Battalions to actually have some CP's to use. That's not easy to do with only Primaris Units. Is moving some squads up to 10 worth losing out elsewhere in the list do you think? Shovellovin
An odd question, has anybody magnetized their intecessors' bolt rifles? And how? I didn't glue the different magazines to the rifles of my Intercessors squad thinking I would magnetize them. However, I discovered that magnets weren't needed. After paint and varnish the magazines stuck into the bolters without a problem. I figure if they ever get a little loose I can always use a small bit of blu tack to hold them in place. Closet Skeleton
Units of 10 and double battalions is easy with pure primaris, you just lose out on vehicles and long range anti-tank which can be a big problem. Dracos
Building a load of Intercessors at the moment (Some for Wolves, some for Imperial Fists) and keep swinging wildly between what to go for! Think a unit of 5 stalkers for each army and the rest as Standard Bolt Rifles? Or are people thinking the assault version are looking good now? Stalkers look really good for sure, especially with the Heavy Doctrine on in the first turn. It’s hard to tell without all the supplements out. I’m especially interested in Salamanders and Black Templars among with my Raven Guard. I would take Stalkers if I could get them to work as pseudo-snipers versus characters. The CP cost of a few stratagems makes a few of them ... less than efficiently playable. Still it seems like they would be good in the right list. Still not sold on the auto bolt rifle but I’m being open to the idea. I think I still prefer the standard bolt rifle in most codes through. Stalkers look really good for sure, especially with the Heavy Doctrine on in the first turn. The auto is better against most targets compared to the rifle, but it costs a point more per model and you give up the absolutely devastating Stratagem. As Fists, the extra shots you put out with the auto are great because they're just more chances at a 6. The virtues of the stalker have been well tread here already, so ultimately the best answer is... All of 'em! NatBrannigan
Well it's good that they're all useful now... Autos do seem good for Fists just to fish for 6's but I know whatever I use in a game, I'll wish I'd gone for the other variant in that instance! A unit of Stalkers for sure though, just so useful. I think that could make even guard envious.
