Dwango
So I've managed to finish more harlequins. Two troupes last month and a shadowseer so far this month. This gives me 3 troupes (a light, twilight and dark representation), a troupe master and a shadowseer for my masque. That leaves me with a solitaire and jester to do for my foot soldiers. I've painted the pilots of the 3 starweavers and the voidweaver too. So I have 7 harlequins that sit on top of the weavers and, gulp, 24 for the bikes to do before I get on with the vehicles themselves! Shadowseer Twilight Dark C&C welcome Zebulon, The Yncarne, Thousand Eyes and 4 others 7 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359013-scaling-the-grey-mountain-of-shame-heresy-dark-angels/page/4/#findComment-5558691 Share on other sites

Dwango
Cheers Bjorn. Managed to get a bit of free time to get my airbrush out today, so I put down some colours on 4 star/void weavers and 8 skyweavers. Never really used my airbrush for anything other than base coating really. Want to see if I can up my game a bit. Heres what I've done so far. hushrong
That purple is gorgeous on your vehicles and love the way the white diamonds pattern is coming out. Dwango
Cheers hushrong. I really like how the purple has turned out too. The white diamond pattern is actually masking tape. I'll be going over it again with various shades of blue, hopefully giving me a nice contrast. hushrong
Yeah, the colors of purple you have are fantastic and the gradual change to lighter colors from front to back is top notch. Â Looking back more closely I see the diamonds ares tape and I am looking forward to the final result. Dwango
My latest offering is 7 star/void weaver crew and another 5 guardians. This just leaves me with finishing all the weavers (16 in all various guises) and the pillions and pilots of the skyweavers, a death jester and solitaire. Hopefully I will be much further on with theses this week as I have a couple of days off work. I have also planned out my next project. It was going to be some inquisition as I've just read a covenant story, however, with the release of the indomitus box I thought I should go marines, that and obviouslyI got a bit giddy! This will be very ETL dependant as I will be vowing aeldari for that, but below is a very tactical looking force of Shadow Haunters. This includes the contents of shadow spear plus more infiltrators/incursers & reivers. As well as a force of Imperial Fists, which covers the indomitus and some Dark Imperium sets (Yes, I'm that far behind!). These will all be on an urban base theme and I think should be pretty fluffy in terms of playing on the chapters strengths. I also have a grand terrain plan to match but that will be some way off. Dwango
Thanks for your kind comment there Bjorn, its very much appreciated! So, I'm a big Dark Angels fan. Have been since I started really. I've dabbled in collecting a 40k force over the years but it was the heresy era marines that really captured my imagination. When I came back after a break from the hobby I discovered forgeworld and the Horus Heresy range. I immediately jumped in and started collecting a 30k DA force. This has been many years in the making, a lot more than I have spent actually painting so my pile of shame is pretty grand! It has seemed, at times, like the DAs were a forgotten force in the Heresy. So with the new DA releases over the last couple of years I have been getting increasingly excited for the release of the Lion himself. As that is tomorrow, I thought it was apt to share some of my (painted) force with you lovely lot. Somr nay have been seen before but most were psinted before i joined the B&C last year. This has been a labour of love and has a few kit bashes and conversions in it. It is also my first proper foray into the painting side of the hobby. Troops Troop support HQ Elites Heavy support As with most, its still not finished as I want to add the new realeases and a couple of std squad's to it. Plus many many vehicles! As always c&c welcome. Dwango
Not posted for a while but I have been busy. I've completed the harlequin pillions and then moved to some slightly different aeldari. It felt good stepping away from diamonds for a bit and concentrating on the blood of the phoenix box. Bjorn Firewalker
Praise is the least I can offer to a skilled artist who puts genuine effort in their works. The year 2020 is horrible because too few people are putting in effort in their works. Dwango
Thanks all. Its very much appreciated and excellent motivation! I've managed a bit more harlequin progress. A death jester (which is a nightmare to put together!), 3 Starweavers and a Voidweaver. I probably should do more highlights on these but I've had them close to completion for a while so I'm happy with getting them done. Dwango
Thanks both! As always I've been productive. I've completed 5 dire avengers. These were ebay rescues and I didn't have time to strip them so I've made the best of it. I did get chance to practice a face though. I've also managed to finish 12 skyweavers. A bit of a slog and some if the diamonds are poor but I'm very glad they are done. I pledged in January to complete a full army in 2020. I have one solitaire to do which should be very achievable. I am moving house next week which is involving many hours magnetising my collection so they survive the move. So actually I may not manage this. I suppose I work better under pressure! Dire avengers. Dwango
Cheers bud! They are the result of eventually getting my hands on a badger airbrush through the birthday event in dec/Jan. As well as a b&c recommended stencil. Its a nice effect although I think I could have got it to look sharper in places. StratoKhan
The work you did on the jetbike canopies is great, the overlaid and slightly offset light blue and dark blue diamonds are lovely. Â Great work with the airbush, I saw you mention in an older post that you hadn't used the airbush much except for basecoats. You've certainly built some experience in that field since then! Â Don't worry about not finishing the Solitaire, given all the hard work you've put in, you definitely get a pass.
