SallyForth
My army is active in every phase of every turn, meaning I have long range shooting, mid range shooting, close range shooting, and I charge and fight. Problem is, I have to devote a significant amount of CP into a chaplain w/master of sanctity and a second warlord trait to reliably pull off the charge with aggressors. Turn two or three when they charge, they are usually pretty far from melee range and have to pull off a tough charge more often than not. I use a Chaplain with Master of sanctity (1cp) to give him the ability to say two litanies, with one being canticle of hate (I think, the +2 to charge and +3 to pile in/consolidate). I then give him an extra warlord trait (1cp) to reroll his litanies, since I’d be using CP to reroll the critical charge litany anyway. Even with all that, sometimes he can still fail to get the litany off, and that really hurts. Is there anything else we have access to as Salamanders to improve charge range? Maybe a relic or warlord trait that gives it automatically? Dumah
Short of the successor trait Hungry for Battle, there is nothing else I'm aware of. Even then, it would not be stackable with the chaplain's +2 aura. SallyForth
I’d be all about taking a successor trait....but then I can’t bring my man Adrax to the table. L30n1d4s
If you upgrade a Company Champion to a Chapter Champion, not only does he gain +1A and the Skilful Parry rule, but he can then take the WL Trait "Martial Exemplar," which allows friendly <Chapter> units within 6" to reroll charge distances... combined with the Chaplain's Litanies, that should give you a reliable chance at making charges. That's a hefty CP investment though, between the Champion and MoS... And you'd have to choose between who gets the extra WL trait (assuming the free one is being utilized elsewhere). L30n1d4s
You could also use a Libarian with Veil of Time to give a single unit rerolls to charge Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/361032-ways-to-boost-the-charge/#findComment-5456371 Share on other sites

That’s great man, I’m looking into that. He seems more reliable than the Chaplain, as the warlord trait is a straight up reroll rather than a litany that needs to go off, and can still fail the actual charge roll.
