Great progress!

Looking at the models, I'm noticing the Eagle and lightning bolts on their chests - markings of veterans from the conquest of Terra by the Emperor. Were these Imperial Fists originally Terran born and fought through the Conquest of Terra, the Great Crusade, and the Horus Heresy? These are some seriously veteran guys.

I wish I could pit my Iron Warriors against them :tongue.: Win or lose, it's a great narrative setup. Terran-born Primaris, veterans of countless wars, against the firstborn Legionnaires who turned traitor ten millenia ago.

I'm also wondering this. Because the Raptor Imperialis is a VERY distinct icon, and the Adeptus Astartes still know what that symbol means.

Two thousand freshly thawed primaris greyshields were on route to the mustering of the Indomitus Crusade when their transport fleet got lost in a freak warp storm and ended up on the wrong sided of the cicatrix maledictum, dropping out of the warp they found a decimated crusade of the Black Templarsbattling orks surging thru the subsector.

The greyshields having lost most of the cadre of present day imperial command personal got griped by the apocalyptic fervor of the Templars and got convicted that the Emperor must have died or been greatly wounded by the great enemy and that they needed to find the Edax rerum, a sacred relic that could bring him back to life.

After much debate and with aid from the local cardinal the primaris marines reorganised them self into the Black Templar Lazarus crusade and the 5th assault company Imperial Fists. The 5th got the majority of the level headed officer corps, veterans of the great crusade and with that they brought with them the honour signs and symbols of 10000 years past.

And with that I present to you the finished squad Donnerhall:

Have had a lack of motivation this last month but I'm starting to feel it coming back now. Started work on a primaris captain with the Bellicos bolt rifle relic. Going to try to finish painting the first Imperial fist squad tomorrow.

where is the ammo feed for the rifle from if you dont mind my asking? Edited by The_Chaplain

Good job on the helmets. I really like the strong contrast you make for the glowing eye-lenses - really intense. Also your application of decals and weathering is superb in creating a heavily weathered, militaristic look of your army.

Keep it up :)

Love it! The lore is great, and the models are stunning.

Thanks mate, appreciate it.

Great work, realistic and well executed effects and the black helmet + trim scheme gives them a bit more weight and grimness than the full lemon. Eye glow against the black helmets looks downright menacing!

I wanted a mean diesel punk look and I think this colour scheme makes them more industrial sinister.

It's from the forgeworld vulture punisher gatling cannon.

Thanks mate, I looked at a lot of wwII modelling when planning out this army and wanted a gritty realistic look thru the lens of warhammer 40k.

Love it, enjoing the whole Thread... and feeling a tad Guilty. I had started with Fists because I allways loved them, but just couldn`t deal with the Yellow if I ever wanted to finish an Army in this Lifetime. So I went for my 2nd Love, Wolves, since the grey came easier to me. But everytime I see awesome Imperial Fists I feel a stab of regret. But only a little ;), the Die has been Cast and I am happy where I am at right now. Again, love to at least watch someone else doing a great Job!

Thanks mate happy to hear that. I have always dreaded painted yellow but decided after my Templars I wanted a real challenge, so I thought up a technique on how to do yellow in a way that won't drive one crazy and went for it. Has been a really satisfying experience so far and I'm really looking forward to seeing this army on the table when it's done,

Good stuff! :smile.:

Thanks mate.

Got arms on the master of the signal so now he is ready to be based and get some pigments on him.

When he is done I will move on to the next intercessor squad.

Looks awesome!  I especially love the insignia you did on the chest.

It would also be dope to see some pics that are from a little further away, to get the whole mini in the pic.  And some group shots too!

Thanks mate, I do theses zoomed in pictures while I'm painting so I can find things to improve on and I usually try to take some full figure picture once they are done.

+++ Imperial Fist close quarter specialist +++ +++Assault on the Hypatos palace m.42++++

The assault on the Hypatos palace is a narrative device that I use to frame my army construction around, the assault itself is a combined Black Templar and Imperial fist attack on the heretical moon of Kerioth. A penal colony that was know for it deep mines and fervent belief in the redemption promised by the Emperor cursed by a preacher that went to deep and brought back something from the dark void of the cosmos.

Filled with the belief that the day of redemption was at hand they hatched a plan to cleanse the sub sector of heretics. Planning for generations they finally launched a surprise assault on the  shrine world of Adonijah rumoured to hold the dark age of technology relic know as the Edax rerum. Directed by cardinal Hergenröther lord and master of the Saffuriya subsector  in the dark Imperium.

The Hypatos palace was the center of the governing body on Kerioth, and the combined  fleet of the Lazarus crusade and a Adonijah Imperial Navy task force smashed the blockade around the moon to deliver a decapitating blow a the heart of the heresy...

Nice one!

Have you considered some kind of feature on the shield that would allow for locking/slotting the ABR into it for increased stability while firing on full-auto?

I know the regular boarding shields and breachers have it but I'm of the mind that the power armour and transhuman status of the marine should remove the need for it.  It's the same reason while I don't do any scopes on regular bolt rifles, the marine power armour should be a complete suite of equipment to deal with all the common eventualities. That is why I will have one shield in each unit and not give them all shields, it's a specialist piece of equipment for a particular situation that is not needed for the reglar business of war that marines wage.

WIP Invictor cockpit 3d printed from Pop goes the monkey. Happy with how it's turning out and I also got a chance to try out my new camera, the source lightning isn't done yet and still a bit rough.
