So we've done this event before and Jolemai and I were talking about doing another one. It would be a building event between us and BA (possibly including our brothers of Dorn) that would lead up to the next ETL.  Who would be interested in an event like this?

Do we have to do the category thing again? The last Blood & Zeal was a bit too restrictive, and made it difficult to partake in, you had to build exactly the right model in exactly the right week, and i think that was one of the reasons the take up was so low. I for one got really frustrated because one of my models was discounted because I built it in the wrong week thanks to a time zone dispute. That sort of wiped out the fun.

I'd be willing to participate, provided that I'll have the right models/bits to do so. All in all, I'd like to participate in a community event with my non-Primaris stuff ;) This would make me feel like being more in touch with the Frater here.

Cheers for the interest so far folks. Whilst the fine details are still being done on any future event, here is the previous iteration of Blood and Zeal.

The tl;dr is as follows:

  • Building event only, whereby models are moved from sprue/bits to being built and undercoated. Conversions are encouraged (bonus points on offer)
  • Duration is seven weeks, each week it's a different category: HQ; Troops; Elites; Fast Attack; Heavy Support; Dedicated Transports; Flyers. So If you wanted to vow Terminators, you would need to wait until the Elites category is open and do it all in that week.
  • Should it go ahead, the IFs will be on the same team as the BTs, your opponents are the BAs. The team which builds the most (measured in PLs) win the category. The team that wins the most categories wins the event.

Basically, it's a very fast moving event with a very competitive edge. However, the goal is to get folks prepared for the ETL (major B&C painting event) in the summer - as in, Frater have things ready to go when the ETL comes around.

The best part is, there's no painting (bar the undercoat) which not only levels the playing field but wont interfere/burn folk out for any other events you wish to participate in this year :)
