Studio Silvernale
Starting on a vanguard force for fun. Mantis Warriors primaris using the old Badab War tranquil campaign camouflage. Step 1: Pink primer, white zenithial, pink ink from underneath. Step 2: Two layers of indian yellow ink. I'm trying to do a grasslands/savanna camo pattern but I'm really not sure what I'm doing... Brother Dallo
Looking good so far. Undercoating pink to paint yellow is an interesting idea. Dallo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362513-mantis-vanguard/#findComment-5489886 Share on other sites
Yosef Hausakluif
Stoked old school camo scheme from the Compendium is getting some love. Take your time and be patience. Maybe run some test models with different patterns; it can be really frustrating trying to achieve the effect you want first time go around! My old school urban blue and grey camo Executioners were a compromise and practice in patience for sure. Painters tape cut with an x acto knife can be useful at times. Good luck and look forward to your progress! Studio Silvernale
I added some details to the original scheme, and tried out another type. Ideas? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/362513-mantis-vanguard/#findComment-5490275 Share on other sites
Dumah
I definitely like the gray scheme better. It goes well with the yellow and seems like a better camouflage for multiple environments. Yosef Hausakluif
My vote is for the brown camp scheme on the right. Works well and actually does break up the snipers outline! Morngrym
Pink primer is something I have never seen before. My head is spinning. I actually like both of the above if you are going for forest or desert. If I had to choose I would select the one on the left. I think it is all coming along though. Studio Silvernale
Yeah I found the idea of pink under yellow on a video. Basically where the white is, you get a bolder canary yellow and where the pink is, you get a warmer orange-yellow. Studio Silvernale
First squad of eliminators are done (I think). I'm still not sure about the camo... Sgt. Yosef Hausakluif
The cloaks came out great; and their bases fit with them well too. Def use some Agrax earth wash on all the seams of your yellow armor next. It’ll make them pop for sure and mellow your yellows and tie it in further with the camo scheme too! Love the old school vibe and color scheme with the new eliminators!
