I'm slowly but surely running out of space. Here are the latest additions.

I so love the new Gotrek's covers. Just got Souslayer and they look great together.

How are you guys doing? Any lucky finds?

My girlfriend suggested my limited editions should have pride of place when we moved in together. Jurassic Park and The Lost World  will eventually be moved when the next Dawn of Fire/The Dark Imperium LE books arrive.

Just noticed The Hollow King was printed in the UK and the quality is pretty bad. It feels like they used a toilet paper to print it on. Grombrindal is a bit better (printed in China) but even here the paper quality dropped (I believe the first book I noticed was First and Only 20th anniversary edition).

Guess I'm done spending that much for crappy hardbacks...

The Hollow King was printed in the UK? Interesting; those "standard" hardcovers have heretofore all been printed in China.

Perhaps this is an element in the ongoing travails regarding the seemingly tiny print runs of new releases. I wonder if GW/BL is having issues securing enough domestic printing capacity to meet all their product output.

Come to think of it, the latest rulebook for the Horus Heresy game line was delayed for the US and other overseas markets.

Maybe this is also a factor in that rumor in the releases thread that GW stores will only be carrying a very few novel lines.

If they are trying to transition to printing paper products domestically, I wish them the best and hope they find the printers to meet their needs. I wish more companies were making serious efforts to invest in domestic manufacturing.

I was also surprised. Personally, I don't care where they print it as long as the quality is there. They used to print hardbacks in the UK before and the quality was crap. I really do hope this one was and only but until I have it confirmed, I'm not ordering any other hardback because the quality is worth $10, and I'm being generous.

Fun to see this haul. I also have the hardcovers of Urdesh, Divination, Silent Hunters and End of Enlightenment.

I should put Divination up on ebay.

I know there's been limited enthusiasm for Phil Kelly's Shadowsun, but from a collecting point of view, I'm loving the 40K Character Series limited editions. Here's hoping the next one is purple - maybe would have to be someone like Lucius for that, or possibly a Drukhari (Drazhar or Vect?!). Or perhaps could be silver/grey (a Necron / Grey Knight?); can't think of a character from an orange faction anyway! Maybe they'll recycle colours already but I like the rainbow look to date and love a series of matching styles

Well, they managed to stay consistent for longer than Warhammer Heroes did. That lasted 3 entries with its cover flap.

Two more and they should've caught up with Space Marine Conquests!

Here’s my contribution to the thread (and BL’s coffers). Warhawk and Echoes of Eternity are out for repair because GW can’t be bothered to do the hinges properly on its most noteworthy novel series. I think I’m going to get them rebound in real leather eventually.

I like the shiny look of that Kal Jericho book, special edition I think

The Penitent/Pariah ones are also great

And obviously the leatherbound ones are gorgeous, I have those for Siege of  Terra as well,  Fury of Magnus also.

Repair? Where do you go to get a book like that repaired? That sounds fascinating!

Well there's always the internet and a dozen people doing book repairs there. Also rather rare these days, but book binders are still around, that restore old and new books. My pop's used to do that for a hobby.

Bookbinders! There are many online who do incredible work. I’m lucky in that there’s also a lot in my local area. We have a trade school for the art of bookbinding nearby and a plethora of universities with rare books that need care. You have to be picky with serious projects (I’ll shop around a lot before I rebind the SoT), but for simpler work you’ve got a lot of options. My guy John has repaired Saturnine (torn binding due to the heavier paper on the art pages), Mortis, Warhawk, and Echoes (all loose hinges). It’s surprisingly inexpensive too, generally just $15-20 USD for simpler repairs
