Entering the home stretch on my Gman.  I started painting this guy in 2017 when 8th was announced thinking I would use him instead of the plastic Guilliman in 40K.

Now that Heresy has become my main game for the last year or so, I figured it was time to finally finish him.

Nice. Much prefer this model to the 40K version. Good work.

Nice paintjob, but I think one of the 30k UM helmets would be a better fit for the HH than the 40k MkVII one.

Wouldn’t they be a bit too small for the primarch? I didn’t even register that it was a 40K style helmet and I don’t really have an issue with that because MKVII armour was coming in towards the end of the heresy. Also, why wouldn’t a primarch have access to the latest tech, or even have his armour inspire the new suits?

I'm not sure about the size of the old resin upgrade helmets, maybe the recent UM praetor helmet would be a better candidate.

Exacly, by the end, and only for loyalists out of Terra. So the UM wouldn't have it because they didn't get there until the end. And it fits that Guilliman's suit would use the same pattern of artificer armour parts that were unique to 30k UM.
Anyway this is just me being nickpicky, the model looks great.

Yeah, I get that - but it could be that RG had the first helmet in that style, and some Mechanicum dude thought “hey, that’s cool, I’ll make the new power armour look like that!”

There are even some MKV variant helms from FW that are very similar to the MKVII look.

If using something else, then perhaps there is a helmet from one of the other primarchs that could be converted, like the lion’s for example. Or a 3D printed one from somewhere. It needs to be bigger than any of the standard marine parts though or it would look like a pea head xD

Great work on those Ravens @TheArtilleryman, the freehand is really nice and I agree that the purple spot colour complements the black.

Here's a comms specialist and power-fist armed veteran for my Iron Tenth, both using parts of the Praevian sculpt:

You can't beat a power fist, they are aesthetically my favourite weapon. Love his helmet too.

The brass(?) Rods are a good addition to your comms specialist. Awesome work.

Hey guys - jumping in with a possibly bad question here as I am out of touch at the moment.

A friend of mine is collecting White Scars and we are looking at Siege of Terra. As an opponent I was looking at Emperor's Children - are there any army lists for the EC as they were portrayed at the end of the book Fulgrim, and after when they arrive on Terra looking for a 'good time'? Thinking of messed-up noise marines, Pinhead-wannabes etc.

Yes, the corrupted  EC list in the first compilation of Exemplary Battles.

Although sadly it fails to really capture the messed-up noise marine essence. We don't get combat drugs, a Kakophoni consul, or really anything. We just replace strong surgical upgrades with meh ones, and an excellent legion trait with a half-baked monster which is only any good on CC dreadnoughts & melee units on objectives (and has no effect whatsoever if your opponent spreads their fire).

Unless you want Daemon Fulgrim, you are probably better off sticking to the normal EC rules and going 3rd Co Elite to have plenty of Kakophoni & surgical augments, and achieving the feel you're after via painting & converting!

Those are looking good. Love the jump pack.

I've always had a soft spot for Rapiers, haven't got around to getting any. What is the kit like to build?

Great stuff as always.

Thanks!

The rapier was fairly simple to build; simple enough that I was able to build it without too much trouble despite there being no instructions! Like all the resin stuff it’s just a bit of a pain having to use superglue. I’m not even sure if I used the right crew bodies because everything was all mixed together in the box with all the other stuff!
