Hello.

Quite recently I'd started buildng an Ultramarines force for my son.

That was before he saw the Wolves!! He really loves the look of them and luckily someone local was selling a Force!!

So I snapped them up for him and although they're all first born Marines I think it was a good deal.

The bundle has a lot of the flavour units (Thunder Wolves, Termies etc)

Thankfully the only models built were the Thunder Wolves, everything else was still on sprues!!

I've painted a few models to see how the colour scheme would work, nothing original I'm afraid I've just used the typical grey/yellow scheme.

Here's what I've got so far:

Eventually I'll be adding Primaris to the force but for now I'll be working on the little ones!!

My aim by the end of the project is to improve at human faces. Wolves being such heroes there are plenty of bare heads to practice on!!

Thanks for looking C&C welcome.

Not much of a painter myself skillwise, however well done thus far!

Just consider paint to be lighting highlights. The pain should look like highlights in normal lighting, like they're in or under a spotlight from slightly over head and in front of them.

Think "heroic" camera lighting and image, and treat the model as if the entire SM is in such lighting.

Movie light 'em, basically.

Models look great, mate. As a point of constructive criticism, though, I’d put some more work into the basing. Some simple work there will really go a long way toward setting off the minis. Just look on YouTube for videos on basing (in particular basing with cork).

Welcome to The Fang!

Val

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I’m really excited to get this going so I’m going to raid my bitz box and see if I can rustle up a Primaris character or 2!

I’ll try and improve my bases going forward.

I'd like to introduce Tyr Ironside! (He's the Primaris Wolflord I kit bashed)

I wanted to give the impression that he had seen many a conflict, so I gave him a scar and blind eye (trying to make him look menacing) also he had to have the Mohawk hair cut!

As with most of my Imperium projects I decided to give him a campaign badge, I went with the Tiwaz Viking rune on a red background. Hopefully it's simple enough for me to replicate it going forward.

This bloke is the first of the Space Wolf Primaris I've done so far, all going well I'll be adding more in between painting the First Born Marines.

I think a lot of the flavour units are still the older Marine range we so will have a use for them for a long time (though I won't be adding anymore in the future)

Here's the pics:

Next up will be a pack of Blood Claws.

I've hit my first milestone for the Wolves... My first Pack!! I went with Blood Claws (I thought it was fitting as they are the younger recruits)

I went with the standard colour scheme, I find the yellow and red go really well with the Fang grey.

Moving forward I will be adding some Wolfguard Terminators but apart from those I'll be using Primaris.

I'm useless at adding decals on Marine shoulder pads so I'll be using the Space Wolf Primaris upgrade kits to save my blushes!!!

I’d like to start adding more Primaris, so what would be the best option to get?

Very likely best to wait and get some Assault Intercessors, although a couple packs of tactical Intercessors would be good, too. Ragnar is incredible. Bladeguard Vets will be good if they get a bodyguard rule. Boltstorm Aggressors are also worth getting.
