ChazSexington
So, having read Primogenitor and Clonelord, the Alpha Legion gets a mention, specifically the Lernaean Brotherhood and the Lernaean Proxies. The facts: The Lernaean Proxies are Bile's enemies (p49, Primogenitor). Scaripedes, a Lernaean agent, successfully infiltrates Bile's Consortium, but is eventually killed for his trouble, though he was well liked by the other Apothecaries (p61, Primogenitor).Agents of the Lernaean Proxies attempt to murder Fabius Bile several times, eventually succeeding (briefly) on Korazin (p71, Primogenitor). The Lernaean Brotherhood are also counted among Bile's enemies (p57, Clonelord). Fabius had cloned thousands of key Imperial figures while on Harmony; "iterators, senior Administratum staff, division heads of the Estate Imperium, and even a few senior officers of the Militarum Tempestus" for the Lernaean Proxies. The Lernaean Proxies had also supplied him with "neural wetware" to be implanted in the clones. Bile also claims Alpharius is "dull." Apparently, Abaddon's attack on Harmony destroyed the clones and ruined Bile's relationship with the Alpha Legion (p193, Clonelord). Thought this might be interesting to some Edited May 6, 2020 by ChazSexington Xenith, Xin Ceithan and Lay 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363664-lernaean-brotherhood-and-proxies/ Share on other sites

Lucerne
The meaning of "Proxies" is obvious, while I suspect the Lernean Brotherhood may be a reference to the Terminator organization/AL elites? Xin Ceithan
I like to believe that the Lerneans are at this point in the 41st Millennium something like a Council of Elders who are running Legion affairs in absence of the Primarch. From the Shadows. Like the " ruling" Council of VtM Camarilla. Or Metal Gear's Li-Le-La-Le-Lu. Maybe there are veterans from the Legion Terminator elite? Like a Deathwing - with delusions of grandeur? Or not. They might just be a splinter group among other splinter groups. But they seem to have some bone to pick with Fabius and enough resources to at least bother him. Or the might be the go to boogieman the AL put up in M41 ? "We might just look like a rag tag band of Legionaires - but mess with us and wait till THE LERNEANS get word of it!" "Poor Bob! He went after those Alphas and was never heard from again. They say THE LERNEANS got him!" Anyway, it is nice to see some ideas to the Legion at large in 40k and some extra bits to build up some warbands. I LOVE that smoke and mirrors thing! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/363664-lernaean-brotherhood-and-proxies/#findComment-5516760 Share on other sites
Lucerne
There are oblique references to "Legion High Command" in old Apocalypse lore, that may or may not be the Deceiver shard that subverted a bunch of AL in the eastern fringe before being exposed soon after the Badab War...
