Noserenda
I mean the rumour mill was still suggesting the 40k writers wanted some new and interesting projects having completed the Codex re write of doom years, i suspect, just like AoS these will be mixing in with Codex updates going forward rather than waiting all edition for no reason, i mean by the sound of it this edition shift is unlikely to outright break many if any armies like usual.Ultimately though the rules have no input on what new models get made, its always been the model team deciding that, so if they decide fraaack it lets do Kroot or whatever next then thats whatll get done even if Orks cant enter buildings or something in the meantime ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364068-my-golden-age-is-over/page/2/#findComment-5526980 Share on other sites
Kite Senet
I'm not particularly happy about the announcements myself, but I think it's a little early to start panicking over rules*. It sounds like 9th will be an incremental update, and it hardly seems obvious to me that anything has been delayed because of the new codices to be released. Just because the factions are getting new codices doesn't mean they'll even be prompt about it; while the massive re-writing of 8th required new codices ASAP, 9th is an incremental update, and it's entirely possible some armies will be left waiting quite a while for their codex to come out--after all, Chaos Space Marines didn't even have a 7th edition codex at all, but leaned on the 6th codex for that entire generation of Warhammer 40,000. *Now, as for the Warhammer 40,000 branding change on the other hand...seriously, what were they thinking? Panzer
Again guys it's this: NOTHING TRULY NEW WILL HAPPEN UNTIL EVERYTHING WE HAVE RIGHT NOW HAS BEEN REPRINTED FOR THE NEW EDITION. That's just not true, really. Unless you have been sleeping under a rock history very easily proves that statement to be wrong. There are all kinds of new things coming out all the time and reprinting/re-releasing last editions stuff is definitely not the first thing on GWs mind when a new edition drops.
