Once again it has been a while since I posted anything here, but playing space marine 2 rekindled the passion and pushed me to take the brushes out once more !

I joined (for the 4th year in a row, yes I still count 2023 even though I only pledged and completed 3models) @Grotsmasha's 12 months of Hobby challenge

I completed 3 Bladeguard Veterans and a Bladeguard Lieutenant :

For the bladeguard, I wanted to aknowledge their company of origin in some way. The tilt shields ended up being the perfect spot for that.

For a change I thought I might post some actual WIP pictures instead of finished models. So here's what's on the hobby desk lately.

First is a kitbashed Techmarine.

I used the Repulsor gunner bits and bashed them with elements (servo arm, back cables, axe, servo skull on the base) from an Imperium magazine Techpriest, a leftover front greave from the agressors kits, and a mystery bit I used to make his right leg, can you guess what it is?

Everything was then covered in all maners of cables and gubbins to make it look like he had two bionic legs. The heavy boltgun is a cut down stubber from the repulsor kit.

Then there's a homemade tarentula sentry gun/firestrike servo turret. I think the lascannons come from a razorback kit, I got them a while ago in an ebay lot. The legs are made from a cut down claw from a crane terrain kit (can't remember the name) and a sensor that comes from the repulsor kit

Some of my already finished squads needed to be completed to a full 10 marines. My stalker bolt rifle Intercessors (that you can see here) and my Hellblasters  (that you can see here)

So for my birthday in august I bought a box of hellblasters, 5 of them were built as Hellblasters, and the other 5 became donnor bodies for the Intercessor squad as I had all the elements for making 5 Stalker bolt rifle guys.

For the hellblasters, I decided to mix and match the loadout. I have actually never played, and loadouts don't seem to matter anymore, but I wanted to cover all the possible variants so that if it ever becomes relevant again, I could choose the loadout and have it really represented on the minis. The first 5 hellblasters are the generic ones from Dark Imperium, so I built 2 with the heavy version, 2 with the assault version, and a sergeant with a sort of hybrid version (nozzle bit from the heavy version and ammo from the regular/assault)

For the intercessors, at first I was about to make them all regular because I had 5 stalker bolt rifles with the matchings pairs of arms, but since the sergeant from the dark imperium squad doesn't have a combat weapon, I built another sergeant. I gave him the reloading arms, and a leftover "maglocked" chainsword from the ETB assault intercessors. I also gave him some old shoulderpads in the form of a crux terminatus one and another that might come from an old tactical squad kit (again from the ebay lot) + a pteruges belt/skirt that if I remember correctly come from the old space marine commander kit (again from ebay, but I remember this kit fondly as I had bought it years ago when it first came out)
