Bladeguard conversion for Ultramarines

I’m not a fan of the Bladeguard vets for the Ultramarines. The ones I get will be destined either for my Deathwatch or Flesh Tearer armies.

 

So I will be converting a few Intercessors using HH Suzerain parts and various upgrade kits.

I want to replace the storm shields they come with, as you have, while keeping the bodies.

The Ancient will lose his silly icon thing, for a custom 3d printed one.

Then it's sorting the head on the Executioner guy.

If you got 30k Bobby, use those sweet legion banners he gets with his scenic base for an ancient.

I am still trying to figure out how to replace the Bladeguard Ancient. The cloak he wears just looks horrible, not to mention the Standard itself.

The ancient doesn't look like a 40k model to me. I might convert my own ancient using the banner from the FW Ultramarine banner bearer.

It's not an Ultramarines model (wether UMs are default Space Marines or you're still going for the roman legion aesthetic like me) but wether it's DA or BT, it does arguably continue the tradition of putting medieval stuff on Power Armor and having loads of skulls (note the reliquary in the bottom right corner).

 

They've just gone reeeally overboard on the medieval stuff and I still don't know why they're carrying the entirety of their late Brother Dave into battle on a stick...

Edit: I think I'll love the hooded head of the first Primaris Chaplain on him.

yeah the new models aren't UM. I think I'm going to go scalpel and greenstuff on some of the 30k ultramarines to get my 40k primaris equivalent
