Whilst I'm waiting on a moment to take pics of the finished Assault Intercessors, Think it's time I made up someone to lead all these Space Marines into battle (at least whilst it's such a small army). I loved their Lieutenant Calsius model, but obviously he was a bit too... blue. So I pinched some ideas from Luther (who is just amazing) for a kitbash:

Thanks for the little nudge to keep me going on these, Lamebeard. I'm really happy both with the way the armour plates came out, and the increased speed I could get them done. They were finished a while ago but I only just got the camera and lights out for a pic.

Love the conversions and I love the little diorama for the photo. The painting has come out really nicely - very neat with depth and interest, good contrast in the colour scheme and basing too.

Bah! My airbrush has had it! I bought a cheapo one, and the nozzle disintegrated whilst I was pushing all the clogged up junk out of it. So the Lieutenant's in limbo for a week or so.

That did mean I got the camera and lights out to take some pics of the Assault Intercessors, though.

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I had a first crack at using Blood for the Blood God. I added a few layers to the Sergeant's head, and think mixing it with some Nuln Oil on some coats would have given some variation, which it needs.

Sorry to hear about the airbrush. Are you going to take the opportunity to upgrade it?

Finances forbid that for now.

I think I’d gummed the last one with primer pretty quickly after I got it and it was never the same. So I got a replacement gun, as it was only £20. I really only use mine for priming, base coating and a bit of zenithal colour, so hoping a bit of better care should see more use from this one!
