Espresso
Greetings battle-brothers, I come before you with a conundrum. I have the Dark Imperium, Shadowspear and soon the Indomitus sets and I am wondering if it is possible to fit the contents into a standard codex chapter company? I ask this because I need to figure out which company markings, squad numbers and identifications should I apply on the models and how many upgrade kits and transfers do I need to procure? I think that the Captains are in fact probably the same marine just with different gear loadouts, same for the lieutenants. What do you think? Rik Lightstar
They're ALL the same marines with different load outs, a Primaris marine in a Battle Company can be deployed in any of the three armour variants and with any of the load outs. So your Intercessors, Infiltrators and Incursors make up your Battleline contingent. Close Support are your Aggressors, Inceptors and soon Outriders. Fire Support are your Eliminators, Hellblasters, Suppressors and soon Eradicators. Not sure on Reivers, but probably close support too. FinalCookie
Absolutely you can! Standard codex battle companies are made up of six battleline squads of ten Marines each, as well as four other squads of ten men split equally into close support and fire support squads. With all three boxes you'll have 2 ten man battleline squads, one five man fire support squad and 2 three man of the same, and 1 ten man squad of close support with a further 3 three man close support squads. The bladeguard can be company veterans or honor guard if you want them to be from the same company, or they can be first company veterans. The only extras that don't fit perfectly are the characters, and as you said, they could simply be the various kits that individuals can be deployed in. Reivers are Close Support indeed. painting.for.my.sanity
You can either assume the Captains, Lieutenants and Ancients are all the same individuals in different loadouts, or perhaps count the Bladeguard (and their characters) as a detachment of 1st company seconded to whichever company you chose as your main one. The following totals are assuming you have no other kits. You'll have 20 battleline: 2x5 Intercessors 10 Infiltrators You'll have 16 close support: 10 Assault Intercessors 3 Inceptors 3 Outriders And finally, 14 fire support: 5 Hellblasters 3 Eliminators 3 Suppressors 3 Eradicators Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365287-dark-imperium-shadowspear-and-indomitus-in-a-codex-company/#findComment-5566653 Share on other sites
Xenith
You'll barely have half a company. The easiest way is as follows: Company: Squad 1 5 DI Intercessors Squad 2 5 DI Intercessors Squad 3 10 Shadowspear Infiltrators Squad 4 Squad 5 Squad 6 Squad 7 3 DI Inceptors, Squad 8 10 ID Assault intercessors Squad 9 5 DI Hellblasters Squad 10 3 SS Suppressors Squad 11 Squad 12 Squad 13 Squad 14 Squad 15 Squad 16 Squad 17 Squad 18 3 ID Outriders Squad 19 3 SS Eliminators Squad 20 3 Eradicators As far as I know, squads 11-20 dont really follow the 6/2/2/ of BL/CS/FS, so you can go nuts with those. If you plan on *only* using stuff from thos boxes to fill the company currently, I'd go: Squad 1 10x DI Intercessors Squad 2 10 Shadowspear Infiltrators Squad 3 Squad 4 Squad 5 Squad 6 Squad 7 3 DI Inceptors, 3 outriders Squad 8 10 ID Assault intercessors Squad 9 5 DI Hellblasters, 3 SS Eliminators Squad 10 3 SS Suppressors, 3 Eradicators Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365287-dark-imperium-shadowspear-and-indomitus-in-a-codex-company/#findComment-5566706 Share on other sites

Rik Small correction in addition to what AenarIT wrote, Incursors are Close Support as well. Espresso
So if I understand correctly the company roster should look something like this: Primaris Captain/Primaris Captain in Gravis Armour/Primaris Captain in Phobos Armour/Indomitus Captain Primaris Chaplain Primaris Librarian in Phobos Armour Command Squad (Company Ancient/Bladeguard Ancient + 3 Bladeguard) Primaris Lieutenant/Primaris Lieutenant in Phobos Armour Primaris Lieutentant/Primaris Lieutenant Indomitus Battleline: Primaris Intercessors Squad 1 Primaris Intercessors Squad 2 (due to different Sergeant sculpts) Primaris Infiltrators Squad 3 Close Support: Primaris Assault Intercessors Squad 7 Primaris Interceptors + Outriders Squad 8 Fire Support: Primaris Hellblasters Squad 9 Primaris Eliminators + Suppressors + Eradicators Squad 10 So from here on where could I place the following: - EtB Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought - EtB Primaris Aggressors - Primaris Incursors And I am still very much confused about squads 10-20? From where come this squad designations? From where come this squad designations? Squads 11 - 20 are from the edited codex by Guilliman. Incursors are close support so squads 7-8/11-20, aggressors are fire support so 9-10/11-20, redemptor sits outside squad placement, so may feature a vehicle number, plus however you chapter ties vehicles to a company (e.g. Blood Angels use the company icon). Chaplains and Librarians also sit outside company structure, unless they dont in your chapter.
