All my boyz came in and I immediately stole bitz from the Flash Gitz box [i only bought the Flash Gitz for parts] to make the periscope on the Wagon more Orky.

The next step is to start converting the Brutes into Kommandos.

Da Kommandos are the first squad I have put together from EZ Krumpny, and were built from a box of Orruk Brutes. I added bitz from Nobz, Lootas, Cadians, Grukk’s Mob, and Flash Gitz kits. I have modeled a Nob with combi weapon and power claw, a heavy gunner with big shoota, a communications specialist, a pistoleer and a demolitionist. The Demo Ork was inspired by a build I saw on YouTube by earh0x Minis.

There is some minor green stuff work that need to be done, joints mostly, but the models themselves are complete. And now that I look at the pictures, I may change the Nob's gun arm, I'm just not happy with it...

I was never happy with the Nob, so I reposed and puttied his right arm, and swapped his head and left hand. I added beanies to the Heavy and his grot, along with putty in the right shoulder and put a beanie on the demo guys helmet, for no reason what so ever.

Tally Ho! Now theyr'e commando's good sir

awesome work here, the heavy gunner is my Fav! cannot wait to see paint on these boyz sometime in the future...

Cheers, Mithril

Awesome conversions! Reminds me of when I collected WHF Orcs and did the reverse thing: grabbed some Orks and Nobz and adapted them to WHF aesthetics. I cannot but wonder how would I modify those sweet AOS Orruks. I must say that I preffer the first version of your Nob, tho, but that's just me. The new one looks incredibly cool too! Out of curiosity: What's that white material you used for the cables? Is it plasticard, or did you model them with some epoxy putty?

It's a flexible plastic rod, pretty thin, maybe .5mm.

Mek Gun Number One, Counts as Traktor Kannon

I wanted to replicate a WWII Anti-Aircraft gun for my tractor kannon. With that inspiration, I took guns and housings from 2 bomma kits, trukk parts for the chassis and plasticcard and sprue for the connecting body. The model is crewed by a bomma pilot and contains bitz from Imperial Guard, Space Marine and ork kits. I will add Grot crew when I get bigger bases [120mm oval].

Man that's sweet as

I should post you a pic of my WiP Stuka (Blitza bommer) that im working on... ( I shelved it for a time while I thought about the nose cone area, it had me stumped for a good while ( there's lots of inspiration here though  )

For Mek Gunz 2 and 3 I wanted to reference towed Allied Artillery from WWII. They were built from cheap plastic howitzers that I bought off Amazon. I added card, plastic rod, wire, rubber bands and a pen. The bitz used are trukk and bomma parts, Cadians, Leman Russ sponsons, 2nd and 3rd Edition Rhino parts, and drop pods. Battle damage and recessed rivets were done with a hobby knife, pin vice and clippers. They are a bit large for the points cost, but I’m good with it, I’ve included scale pictures with the Kaptin of Da Tank Bustas, and the AA gun. I’ll mount them each on a 120mm oval base with crew.

For Mek Gun 4, I was inspired by the ridiculous mortars that developed out of the horrific trench warfare of WWI. The carriage is built from sprue and plasti-card, the barrel is from a 2nd Ed. Vindicator, the muzzle brake is dakka jet exhaust, and other bitz were added from the bomma, Cadians, Flash Gitz, drop pod and old marine bike. Ammo is inspired by a British mortar that launched rounds that the men called “toffee apples” due to the ridiculous shape, I’ve included a picture. The rounds were made from the wrekkin’ ball from a trukk and the fins from a dakka jet rokkit.

As before, battle damage and recessed rivets were done with a hobby knife, pin vice and clippers. I’ve included scale pictures with the Kaptin of Da Tank Bustas, and the AA gun. I’ll mount it on a 120mm oval base, and due to the fact that it’s smaller, I think it’ll have quite a few crew.

Good job on the siege mortar. Will you make a larger version with a tracked carriage, like the image seen here?

I don't know. I haven't figure out how many Gunz I want to bring.

At this point I really need to start working on adding bodies rather than vehicles...

EZ Krumpney Tankbustas Kitbash

Da Kaptin and Da Tankbustas were kitbashed from Flash Gitz, Nobs, Lootas and Stormboys. I am really pleased with how the unit turned out, I think the dude with the punch rokkit is my favorite.

Oh wow. I was JUST sizing up the flash gitz kit for potential tankbusta conversions - I see it works! Spectacularly, in this case. Very nicely done. I also love your vehicles, especially the landing craft. I think "rubber bands and a pen" are some of the best Ork kitbashing ingredients on the forum.

Thanks!

And in my humble opinion the Flash Gitz is the best converting kit in the ork range.

Looking great!

I do have a concern with you using an elastic band as part of your mek gun.... I have a lot of experience with them (in an office setting) and they dry out over time so as to become very brittle.  I'm afraid that in the years down the road, that part of the model will dry out and break apart/off.  Perhaps you could get a similar effect with a different material that doesn't carry the same risk.

Joker, I feel like that siege mortar almost requires a grot crew member who has climbed up and sticking his head into the muzzle brake to investigate...

The artillery pieces are awesome!

Immediately after I read this, I began to plan it out, and have just finished the modification.

Thanks for the the great idea!
