Hello frater!

Veteran Sons of Titan may recall my previous posts in the Grey Knights forum from aeons past. Alas my previous plog is lost to the warp, but as I seem to be painting a few reinforcements for 9th edition I thought I'd start a new plog to capture some pics and thoughts.

First up, and fresh off the painting desk is none other than Voldus!

Basing still to be done; I'll do a batch job once there's a few models in need of it.

Thanks for the kind words. I've got some pics of older models in my gallery so I'll link a few across in another post.

Very nicely done, Neophyte. What's the recipe for that silver - leadbelcher/drakenhoff nightshade, I presume?

This particular recipe is bit off piste from my normal scheme as I've been experimenting with Grey Knight Steel.

1) Prime Chaos Black

2) Base coat Grey Knight Steel

3) Wash (I use a mix 2 parts Drakenhoff: 1 part Nuln Oil: 1 part Lahmian Medium)

4) Reapply Grey Knight Steel to cover pooling/stains.

5) Edge highlight top most edges with Chainmail/Silver of choice.

The wash mix is a hangover from my old recipe which was 1) Prime with Army Painter Platemail 2) Wash. The new recipe is more complex but is giving good results.

You can see the old scheme here:

Termies #1

The latest addition to my Grey Knights; a Venerable Dreadnought with Twin Lascannons and Missile Launcher.  The Missile Launcher is a spare Drop Pod Deathwind Launcher.

I will need to redo the painting on the base; I applied the wash colours in the wrong order and the base looks less "Army of the Dead" and more "Cricket Pitch". The desired colour is visible in the picture of the Termies earlier in the thread. Not a big deal to sort however.

I've got a couple of (socially distanced) games planned over the next couple of weeks as well; looking forward to getting the Grey Knights back on the table top.
