The only one that really hurts me is the increase to Kabalites- I've dropped my Drukhari six warrior squad battalion from my Harlequin soup list and replaced them with a Craftworlds Spearhead. If I can't field a lot of objective-grabbing squads then I'd rather have some longer-ranged, hard hitting War Walkers.

Other than the increase to Troops, which seems fairly heavy-handed, Drukhari are alright point-wise for me. The only other inconsistency is the dissie cannon, it costs too much compared to the dark lance, and seems to only have been increased because of its usefulness against Primaris (and now Firstborn).

Kabalite blobs a certainly dead, as are Webway bombs.  There are a few units that are good for their points, like Mandrakes and Grotesques, but in general, i see successfull Drukhari being soup, with an emphasis on MSU firepower.

I think Drukhari are going to be out in the wilderness for a while until a new Codex drops.  GW has some weird thing against Kabal, and it seems like wither every update since 8th dropped they have gotten somehow worse.

I'm expecting revision down for most, I get the feeling the points change was to give the game a bit of a reset on the previous discounting ride and provide a new baseline for the new Marine stats. Unfortunately these tweaks are bound to be tied to new codices and who knows when that will come?

It doesn't change that much for me as I'm still painting my models up and I don't know when I'll get my next game, but there's nothing you can do anyway so if you're hitting the table with your DE you've got to make do :tongue.: It may be that some of the changes in 9th's rules aid DE some more, but I don't think enough to justify some of the costs so we're probably back to waiting to see what GW has planned in the new codex...

9th ed balance has proven poor. Dark eldar suffer on the short end, others enjoy cost effective choices across their lists. Balancing around fluff (eg 6 point cultist) means playing a faction opposed to the imperium will be difficult. Warhammer has never been fair but 9th is a bit regressive from the strides taken in 8th.

9th right now is not how i would expect it by the end.  We are all playing with 8th ed Codexes shoehorned into the new reality of 9th.  Balance will be redressed as Codexes are released.  Right now we are penalized for having speed and potential hordes.  I also suspect that some of our units are inherently overpriced because we can play soup without penalties.

I agree with Snazzy

In 8th Ed I came 7th in a 30 player tourn in NZ with top players here early 2019. I was using drukhari index and no codex vs codex players ie Marines with Gulliman and there codex buffs Etc. Still won.

I also ran 6 cronos in that list.

No one played drukhari then.

4 months later everyone is an Archon lol

We are disadvantaged in some ways but not all

As ours and others codexes come out weapons stats points and unit points will change

Coven are quite nasty with Dark Techno which is underutilised and I personally use to great effect now

We have DCs on mobile platforms ignoring cover saves with ability to soup coven

So I think we will be ok in the interim

Just reminds me of the challenge at start of 8th but we can beat most armies tactically

Skari shows that from taking different lists and units from My own experiences

Just be patient and test different units

I use hellions and wyches, beasts , test them all out

Try different units and different strategies other than black heart or POF everygame
