Squike
Hi all, So quick question to the community about a Crusade rule. As crusade uses Power Level rather than points, and as say a squad of 6 CSM is the same PL as a squad of 10. If I have a squad of 10 on my roster, is it possible to only take 9 of them for a Crusade game and leave the single model out. my thinking for this is a Rhino has a capacity of 10, if I want to run my Chosen on foot from the start I will run all 10, but if I want them in the Rhino with say a Character can I drop 1 Chosen model from the list so there is space in the Vehicle? TrawlingCleaner
If I remember rightly once you put a unit in your roster it's set in stone unless you use RP to increase the model count/change their weapon's loadout. As I'm running a Crusade myself with a group, if a player came to me and asked if they could take less models to get around transport capacity problems I would let them. I would suggest talking to whoever you're playing against/ whoever is running your Crusade and ask them Squike 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/366296-crusade-unit-sizes/#findComment-5595660 Share on other sites
BluejayJunior
Yeah, technically, I believe they are stuck at 10 once you bump them up to that on your Order of Battle. Definitely talk to your opponent. It's the same price either way, so it shouldn't be a big deal, but I could see some people being strict about it. Tyriks
I agree, I don't think the rules allow for that. You could just have two units, though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/366296-crusade-unit-sizes/#findComment-5595694 Share on other sites
Gederas
Per the rules, no. If you bump up the Intercessors from 5 to 10 that unit must be taken as a full 10-man in the game. You're free to combat squad them during the game, but you can't take less than the full squad in a game. I learned that yesterday the hard way when I bumped my Hellblasters to 10, only to find out, nope. If I brought a 25PL list and wanted to use my Hellblasters, I had to take all 10 (16PL) of them. Dam13n
I believe he's talking about Chaos Marines... they can't Combat Squad. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/366296-crusade-unit-sizes/#findComment-5595811 Share on other sites
Cheex
By the rules, no, you're stuck with the unit exactly as you put it on your OOB. That said, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't make a lick of difference to your opponent whether you've had 9 models on your OOB the whole time or not.
