Ork Army Showcase: Flying Circus of the Luftwaaaagh

I am proud to say I finally have enough of an ork army to be brave enough to post it here.

Hope you like it, overall theme is flying machines, specifically triplanes (deffkopta conversions) and zeppelins (chinork warkopta transports)!

The zeppelin corps, from left to right: the Morkon (or was it the Gorkon?), the Hindenbork II, and the Orkron

Another weirdboy (with high-tek signal devices) along with an ork with an unconventional flying machine...

Like I said, hope you enjoyed them, this army has been fun to convert and paint in bright, gaudy colors

Yup definitely running those triplanes as deffkoptas. The original triplane (the evil-suns clan one with the red paint and yellow flames) was based on an old Black Reach plastic deffkopta, heavily kustomized and re-engineered with some resin-cast wins I made myself. By my estimates they are (roughly) the same size as a deffkopta, maybe a tad bigger due to the wingspan.

 

I do want to make some actual ork fighters at some point, probably after I buy the actual ork flyer kit, but I need to make something more "world war one" than the current ork flyer. I was thinking of making something that looked like a great big gotha bomber... or maybe a bigger version of my zeppelins? The idea of making a big zeppelin aircraft carrier has a certain orky ring to it
