You did well, unfortunately Rahuls orders are to take the treasure and eliminate witnesses. He is not a nice guy in general, but he is just trying to keep his and his squads hide safe from the whims of powerful people.

I have tried to hint on it in passing, but there is some degree of infighting between various elements of the upper echelon of the Imperial State on Norombearg. It is why there was a need for a big expedition company made of lots of people from different areas and why the Arch-Magos is only nominally in charge even though it his research and quest that brought about the Archeotech hunt in the first place.

@Machine God, do you want me to roll for you this weekend?

Edited by Trokair

10 by 10 meters

Though looking back I think I was treating it as 5 by 5 meters at the weekend when I was working out the Grenade Launcher, Ops.

So Varn, Ariel, and Helene were too far to be affected, will amend so Helene is not blinded. Kazimir is borderline, but he passed the test so make no difference.

Ravia however is still in range.

Half Action - Move

Move to L3, to the passenger side of the Goliath

Sorry, I don’t think that is quite going to work.

The squares are 10m by 10m, which makes the closest point of L3 somewhere around 11 or 12m from Ravia, and drawing level to see into the driver cap at least 15 or 16 ish. Give the size of the map I’ll happily fudge a distance a little for smooth play, but this is too far, unless Ravia has some serious Movment Tech that I have missed.

If you want to take cover behind the wall in K3, that is reachable. From there you can take your already rolled attack at any visible target such as J4, Rahul, K5, or even any of the other troopers in the 5 row (though the others all will have some sort of cover).

Or you can try and shoot out the tire on David to slow Josiepth down further; a damaged tire is going to impose a penalty on the Drive Test.

Also open to other ideas, let me know what you want to do and we will see.

Hmm. Dang, didn't remember the size of the squares. Hmm. I guess I'll just have her move to cover and shoot at Rahul, and yell at someone who might be able to get into a better position faster than she will. Post edited.

Half Action - Aim

Half Action - Called Shot at Grenade Launcher Trooper (Weapon)

Target - 39 + 30 (close range) + 10 (red-dot) - 20 (called shot) = 59

Roll - 13

Result = Hit, weapon.

Damage - 5 + 3 = 8 damage, 0 Pen

So I am not entirely sure this is covered in the rules anywhere (if there is please point your blind GM in the right direction).

As it is a las weapon hitting mostly metal would a modification of the Overheat table be acceptable, something like this:

d10 Roll

1–4 The firer must make a Toughness Test or drop the weapon.

5-8 The firer must make a Toughness Test or drop the weapon. The weapon cannot be fired for 1d10 Rounds.

9 The bearer  takes 1d10+2 Energy Damage and must drop the weapon. In addition the weapon is too hot to pick up (anyone trying takes 1d10+1 Energy Damage) for 1d10 Rounds.

10 The weapon explodes and is destroyed. The firer and anyone within four metres takes Damage as if they had taken a single hit from the weapon.

The last result would be one of the grenades cooking off.

I don't think it is as such- no real rules for shooting your opponent's weapon, more of a desperation play from me as Ravia's not feeling great and trying to do something useful.

@Machine God, So your first dodge would be at -5 and the second at -15 weather or not the first succeeds, for each failed dodge one frag grenade will hit you (ill randomise the location for each successful hit).

I had initially gone with just a -10 penalty for the dodge on account of grapple no allowing dodges at all, but that would have made the second (or even third grenade if the dice so decided) difficult verging on impossible, so - 5 is hopefully a acceptable compromise between allowing to dodge while grappling and taking lots of damage.

I’ll role for Ariel once Varn has been dealt with and then end the round.

Aria had a total of 70 BS with modifiers. Her roll of 41 was a success with 2DoS so +1d10 for Accurate as per the Errata.

Two extra DoS - three total DoS as the initial hit is also included. FFG sometimes mixes and matches whether a particular benefit is from total or extra DoS.

So... anyone remember to fit a hunter killer missile or pintle mounted multi-melta to the goliath? I don't fancy the chances of small arms and swords unless we can somehow catapult the Ogryn onto it  :p

As I recall. No

Don’t worry too much about the Valk, Rahul called it in for support and evac, so it won’t be around for long. Unless you try and hinder the evac...

Just try not to die in the meantime.

A while back somebody did ask about getting a heavy weapon to mount on David, and I said that there would be opportunities. However by the time you lot where in the PDF bases (which was one of the locations a heavy stubber could have been obtained) we all collectively forgot about it I think.
