Hey guys!

Just dropping by to share this list, that I will be using for a random game against a Death Guard player this afternoon.

It's going to be at 1000 points, and although the scenario itself has not been decided yet, I have this list ready to take on the chaos forces. The theme of which is Greenwing infantry formations.

ELITES

Apothecary

+ Chief Apothecary

+ Hero of the Chapter: Selfless Healer

Venerable Dreadnought

+ Close Combat Weapon, Storm Bolter, Multi Melta

HEAVY SUPPORT

10-man Devastator Squad

+ Plasma Cannon, Plasma Cannon, Plasma Cannon, Heavy Bolter

+ Armorium Cherub

The idea behind the list is simple.

The bulk of the army marches forward. With the Dreadnought granting to-hit rerolls for the overcharged plasma guns and combi plasmas, the apothecary granting a 6+++ for the squads to have more survivability, and the librarian using 4+ Smites and Trephinations to act as a Mortal Wounds dealer. The Dread can also add some anti armor against Demon Engines, which I am sure he will bring.

Meanwhile, the Devastators act as back-field holders, while they use not-overcharged plasma at a +1 to wound through litanies, to try and clear the field, as well as the heavy bolter as a secondary source of Mortal Wounds. They can either hold still for a BS2+, or use Steady Advance to reposition and keep their 2+. Their Blast characteristic should be useful to deal with Pox Walkers, in particular, to clear the field.

The only thing I am undecided yet, is on what relic to take. I honestly do not know what relic would be most useful for this. Maybe the Neural Shroud for the Chief Librarian?

Damn, that battle was TOUGH!

We drew a scenario from combat cards, I got the enemy deployed right on my face, and was immediately charged by Typhus with 20 pox walkers dealing mortal wounds. In one round he took 10 tacticals, the librarian, the apothecary, and tied the Dreadnought.

The battle ended quickly afterwards. There was no mathematical posibility of winning by points, and we decided to lend the board to another couple of players.

I think the list has merit, but I was absolutely crushed by the Death Guard this time.

I think I'll try something punchier next time.

Lieutenant with Jump Pack

+ Heavenfall Blade, Plasma Pistol

+ Warlord: The Imperium's Sword

+ Paragon of the Chapter: Calibanite Knight

Interrogator Chaplain

+ Crozius Arcanum, Bolt Pistol

+ Master of Sanctity

+ Litany of Faith, Exhortation of Rage

Berzul, that Deathwing Knight Squad is a little bit more than 'punchier' you know

Still enjoying the 5-man Tactical squad love! #MorePlasma

I know I am maybe a bit old school, but yeah. Love me them plasma tacticals.

I got a game on friday. Lets see if this list indeed IS as punchier as the Knights seem to be, given the list size ;D
