Llagos_Tyrant
Could someone please share a photo of the plastic daemon prince model, next to one of the new plastic obliterators with me? I'm hoping to convert a daemon prince based on the old metal sculpt, but give it a bit of a more Iron Warriors flair with some parts of the Obliterator model (maybe the legs and one or both of the arms). The problem is that I don't know how the proportions look, or if they're totally off and it would look wonky. WarriorFish
I don't have the models to hand for a picture currently, but there is a notable difference in scale. As a rough approximation I'd treat Oblits as half the size, especially with regards to the arms and legs so the proportions won't work as a direct swap. The idea is a good one, but you will need to look elsewhere for parts unfortunately. Maybe something like Dreadnought or Contemptor bits would be a better place to start? If you have the supplies I think some plastic card and GS could replicate the look without too much difficulty but as always easier said than done as it would not be a particularly quick job... Tichinde
one of our group used a Contemptor, I'll try and get a pick later. as WarriorFish says, I reckon the prince is notably bigger. Bung
You could look at Pop goes the Monkey, they have an IW inspired demon Prince, maybe there are some jnteresting parts for your conversion. Llagos_Tyrant
Thanks everyone for your tips and answers! This is really helpful and saves me purchasing a Daemon Prince while I try to work out a solution. The Contemptor idea is interesting! and I'll check out Pop Goes the Monkey as well. Thanks! WarriorFish
Here's a size comparison with the various models: As you can see the general model size isn't too far off aside from the Contemptor, but the key difference is the limb length. If you wanted a closer match to these the Contemptor's are probably the best but I'm not sure how well these could be adapted to fit the rest of the model. Whatever you decide don't forget to let us know Llagos_Tyrant 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/369451-size-comparison-daemon-prince-and-obliterator/#findComment-5677930 Share on other sites

Trokair
Random thought, if you are looking for bits to mechanize a daemon prince kit have a look at the Adeptus Titanicus range, a Warhound titan or a Porphyrion knight should be the right size (they come on 80mm and 60mm bases respectively (though the Warhound fits on a 60mm just fine, I did so for a 40k Dreadnaught conversion) and are a similar size/bulk. Cerastus Knights might also work, though they are slimmer.
