Tartaros terminators and storm shields

Recommended Posts

So I was looking at putting together some terminators with storm shields and I noticed the wording for the storm shields states:

"for +15 points if equipped with standard terminator or for +10 points if equipped with cataphractii terminator armour." page 29 age of darkness legions book.

Looking at page 30 of the age of darkness army list book, the legion terminator squad listing the wargear states terminator armour*

The * stating the squad can be equipped with terminator armour, tartaros terminator armour or cataphractii terminator armour.

This would exclude tartaros armour from using shields then by my reckoning, as it is neither standard nor cataphractii armour.

Thoughts? I assumed that tartaros armour is the preferred version for use with shields, but reading that makes me think it's not legal, unless I'm missing an FaQ

The Horus Heresy General Errata and FAQ clarifies that any rule that references "standard terminator armour" is not specifying any particular pattern of armour. so basically in regards to imperial fists terminators and taking storm shields if you are in cataphractii then you pay 10 points, if you are in any other armour you pay 15, whether it is tartarous, indomitus or any future pattern of armour the designers wish to include like saturnine.

Cheers buddy much appreciated, so why would you ever take indomitus over tartaros? Apart from already having the models I guess.

Or even bother with cataphractii storm shields?

Setting.

If you go late Heresy / Siege of Terra Indomitus is a fitting choice especially when heavily converted.
