They still have power fist and chainfist options, right? So if you don't like Accursed Weapons, sprinkle in a few fists to bump up your melee power.

If power sword equivalent weapons are fine why are they so rarely utilized despite just about every army having access to them and some armies able to significantly buff them?

I use them. People I play against use them. The top 1% who play in tournaments and chase the meta of the week =/= all 40k players.

S +1, -3AP 1D is good against most infantry, and they are usually 5pts.

Their not bad in the normal people meta, and power weapons look cool.

A huge part of the problem with 9e, IMHO, is that it's balanced for the 1% tourney players who bitch of twitch and youtube and Twitter, and not the normal 99% playing normal games.

If leaks from the Slaves to Darkness book aren' Aragorn charging the gates of Mordor, I don't know what is. I blame whoever dropped the whole Tyranid book.

As for accursed weapons - they will be fine. Terminators just won't be the answer to every threat like some people seem to want them to be.

Termies can still take power fists and chain fists. A few with fists for big hard stuff, a few with power weapons to blend light infantry and be cheaper. Seems like a strong unit still?

That's been the problem with 40k since 5th ed. GW have always bought into the idea that because people have outreach through various media it means they're hyper qualified to comment on what's good and what isn't. It's great having external testers through the ITC scene. Not so great when it's based around metahammer and is catered to by all and sundry but then again it's a hard win for GW - changing the meta every week = more sales

So Accursed Weapons are a side grade. That sounds pretty fair to me. I've seen Loyalists make good use of relic terminators with bolters and lightning claws. Can't we do the same?

EDIT: The modelling opportunities for accursed weapons are going to be fun

I think there are good points on all “sides” of the discussion re: accursed weapons, but however efficient or not they are versus other options that terminators used to have, those other options are gone.

Gotta reap skulls the best we can with the tools we have at our disposal. If someone chooses not to use them, so be it, but the rest of us seem pretty stoked or at least optimistic. Not really something to convince anyone of, once one has made their case, IMO. Can gnash our teeth a bit and then refine our strategy and tactics to win the long war.

I have played the leaks in a couple of games now and have been chatting on doscord with some players who have tried them out. Terminators are no joke. I tend to go tzeentch with the ap1 bolters (ap2 with strat) and they get :cuss done. With AoC and the other tzeentch buffs they are ridiculously tanky. I had jain zhar and 2 squads of 5 howling banshees run into my termies and 6 survived the full assault.

Because of the increased tankiness things like chosen terminators will have a role of sustained damage.

Is it still looking like going chaos undivided for units is pretty rubbish?

No worries just abit of tongue in cheek, I was just wondering if its still looking like no point in taking undivided units, you said a while back that you couldn't see any reason to do so?

Most of the time you will be wanting to run marked, there is a undivided stratagem that is a great toolbox strat but its niche.

Cheers bud, food for thought.
