Quoting myself because I feel I might have been missed at the bottom.of the last page:

So I have two question about older leaks: are all powered weapons now accursed weapons, or just the Chosen/Terminator ones?

And if that's the case that only Chosen/Terminators, do unit champions have a "melee weapons" wargear list, or is it datasheet locked?

So look like accursed weapon are chosen/terminator only.

Terminators/Chosen only.

Eh "looks like" isn't quite the same "only being available" to certain units. Well guess we're waiting for book leaks to know 100% sure in case Clockworkchris wasn't given the whole picture on something.

What are we still waiting on for these leaks? Didn't the Eldar know their entire codex months in advance?

We've been getting information for like four months now. I think given how leaked Eldar were, the Eye of Sauron is more fixated, so our leaker has to be more coy.

My main curiousity if there is a melee weapons wargear list that aspiring champs have access to is that it might solve the "no lighting claw" problem, or might give accursed weapon access.

Either way I'm looking at building NL using HH models so I'd like a way to sneak those lighting claws in one way or another for theming.

Litterally the only with accursed weapons are chosen and terminators.

Someone over in the N&R forum just confirmed that Index: World Eaters is going to be in next month's issue of WD, which means Codex: CSM is likely to be out then, too.

Alright, but do units have access to a Melee Weapons list? If so, what's on that list? We could be missing part of the picture there are options not on the datasheet that can be taken.

I almost expect C:CSM to be out by the end of this month before they put HH on order, but GW has surprised me before.

HH box will almost certainly be up for preorder on May 28, so a May preorder/release for CSM won't happen*. We're in the midst of the 30k hype machine right now.

Don't know, don't care, was just answering the first part of your question with what information was already available in the thread. I would be very surprised if accursed weapons were on a wargear list outside of the Chosen/Terminator unit entries though.

*please prove me wrong GW

I do hope this is true, imma getting antsy!

Isn't there still one last chaos kit to show off, new bikers was it?

There is also still that unresolved rumour engine with the chaotic thunder hammer that looked different from the one in the warpsmith kit, as well as the one that looked like Huron's claw.

I wonder which legions will be the big winners. Initially it looks like both WB and EC Will have the melee offensive buffs. BL for shooting and tactical play. NL might sync well with knights with Ld modifiers and debuffs. AL seems to be one of those counter alpha strike armies… (kinda funny considering their name), IW seem the most shooty out off all the armies.. not sure how much they’ve changed. Maybe more resilient now.

I feel like termies are going to be absolutely bonkers in EC with deepstrike and honor the prince strat.

I am concerned how warp talons are going to be though- I realize OW isn’t too much of a threat nowadays, but they were kinda my counter punch unit to tau/marine fire bases.

and I also worry about possessed. They seem good from their statlines, but how to deliver them safely into combat? Use slaanesh and FNP to give them more resilience? Or nurgle? Unless there’s a deepstrike strat for them, I worry they’ll be a super strong offensive unit that just dies to focused enemy guns and you lose 1/4 your army when a blob of them dies.

I really hope these units get additional special rules or strats to allow em to get to combat to actually deal damage.

What I really REALLY hope is for land raiders to get their assault vehicle rule back. Just a global FAQ would make them soo much more useable.

I wouldn't say EC are the winners of anything. Given that TS came out in 7th, DG in 8th, WE in 9th, it's safe to say EC will *probably* come out in 10th or maybe 11th if they delay it. The cult Legions lose access to units from the main dex. Yeah EC terminators might seem sweet now with the leaked rules, but I'm willing to bet in the 5ish or whatever years when they come out and get their own codex they will get their own cult terminators (just like TS and DG did before them) and not even be able to use those vanilla terminators with powerfists anymore. If I were an existing EC player sure, it would be fine to add a unit or two considering you already have an army of units that may or may not be playable when they get their own codex, but as someone who does not currently have any EC, I would never start one without their own book to possibly loose access to half of the stuff one would buy and paint.

If someone was looking to start EC now I would recommend painting it in your own scheme as a custom warband and just use EC rules, that way when EC does come out and gets it own dedicated units, you can start them proper and the other warband can play with any of the remaining 5 Legions rules or as a custom warband.

That’s certainly one way of looking at it. I remember the disappointment I felt after finishing off a squad of 10 thousand sons warp talons in 7th Ed only for them not to exist in 8th and having to repaint them as EC.

That being said, I think EC Will be stronger with the new codex than the current one.

The WD with the Index Xenos: Altansar dropped in stores before Codex: Aeldari did. I forget the lead time though, maybe a week?

So the reddit guy said "You liked the psychic awakening book right...." when news of the white dwarf article was shown.

So that's probably most of what they'll get, maybe doctrine bonuses.

Berserkers, warlord traits, relics, strats and doctrine bonuses would be the minimum since they don't have anything in the codex proper.

With the Horus Heresy legion previews skipping weekends, it seems the pacing of the articles suggests a June 4 pre-order instead of a May 28 pre-order for the new edition of HH. That little extra window, combined with a mid-June release of World Eaters, suggests we might even see CSM this month.

Either that or the World Eaters supplement will be out about 2 weeks before the codex to which it is supplemental, which does have a distinctly GW ring to it.
